Front-End Engineer – Security & Integrity – in Partnership with Leading AI Lab
4+ Years of Industry Experience | San Francisco, CA 

Partner Role Compensation: 255k - 405k + Offers Equity

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain secure, responsive front-end applications leveraging modern frameworks (React, TypeScript).
• Collaborate closely with security engineers, AI researchers, and designers to integrate security and AI best practices into user interfaces.
• Implement front-end security controls, including authentication flows, input validation, and secure API integrations.
• Design and build intuitive, interactive experiences utilizing various AI models, including ChatGPT, vision models, and other generative AI tools.
• Optimize performance and scalability of front-end components to ensure seamless and responsive user experiences.
• Conduct code reviews and participate actively in security- and AI-focused development cycles.
• Continuously explore and integrate the latest front-end, security, and AI technologies, methodologies, and trends.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of professional front-end engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Demonstrable experience integrating security best practices into front-end development (e.g., secure authentication, OAuth, JWT).
• Familiarity with front-end security threats (XSS, CSRF) and effective mitigation techniques.
• Experience working with diverse AI models, including but not limited to NLP (ChatGPT), vision, and multimodal systems.
• Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility principles.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical and security topics to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with security analytics dashboards or threat monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and secure deployment practices.
• Familiarity with automated security testing and CI/CD pipelines.

You Might Thrive in This Role If You: 

• Extensive experience in front-end development or UI engineering, with a portion of that experience in technical leadership or ownership roles.
• Deep understanding of front-end security principles and best practices, including secure coding, threat modeling, and mitigating common web vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF, clickjacking).
• Strong experience building modern, performant, and secure web applications using frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain UI/UX decisions and security considerations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience at a startup (even if failed), showing initiative, adaptability, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to move quickly while maintaining product and security quality.
