10Beauty, located in Burlington, MA, is building the definitive Intelligent Beauty company, leveraging robotics and automation to reimagine how people can interact with machines on a service level. We have just closed a further $17M in funding (total funding of $38M), to launch the world’s first full manicure machine next year, having already pre-sold over $13M in annual manicure pod subscriptions to our first launch partners. Introduction:

10Beauty is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will play a crucial role in the development of an autonomous robotic technology and its introduction into the world.

What you’ll do:

• Develop (design, build, test) complex mechanisms and supporting structures in SolidWorks for a highly precise five degrees of freedom gantry and related mechanisms
• Design and release custom parts/assemblies for mass production, primarily but not limited to plastic injection molded and machined parts, including drawings
• Work cross-functionally with the electrical, embedded software, computer vision and machine learning, supply chain, product, and quality assurance teams to develop complete, production ready solutions to complex multi-disciplinary problems
• Travel to Malaysia to support our contract manufacturer in developing the production line for prototype builds and launch

What you have:

Strong motivation and initiative to work autonomously and figure stuff out

• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision
• Independent self-starter who drives alignment on requirements and subsequently executes comprehensive solutions
• 5+ years of experience in designing products for mass production in SolidWorks (or other CAD package)
• Experience with plastic injection molding, DFM, DFA 
• Experience in one (or more) of:
  • Mechanism design, robotics, stepper motors, belt-pulley systems, UI/ID parts, seals, airflow
