The Copywriter works with the business leaders and the Copy Director to deliver strategic solutions and messaging that drive revenue and deliver on business objectives. Writing engaging and inspiring copy across all MVW businesses and brands that educates and engages the reader for maximum business results. Ensures all copy deliverables meet the requirements of the business, customer, brand, and legal functions. Ensures accuracy and consistency across customer types and communication channels in the appropriate brand voice. Delivers on-time and on-strategy copy. 

 

Contributions: 

  •  Creates compelling on-brand copy across channels as part of overall creative development 
  • Ensures written messages meet business objectives and are delivering results aligned with expected business outcomes 
  • Collaborates with creative team and business partners to ensure successful completion on time  
  • Proactively communicates with the business leaders, creative team, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity on requirements 
  • Works across regions and time zones as needed 
  • Understands and creates communications across the enterprise with a specialty in direct response writing 
  • Demonstrates thoughtful solutions in consideration of broader company goals  
  • Works to ensure consistent application of department processes and procedures 
  • Has an expertise in each brand’s tone of voice and positioning 

Duties: 

  • Executes all copywriting requests for web, email, print brochures, marketing materials, and campaigns with accuracy and consistency. 
  • The four C’s: Ensures copy is Clear, Concise, Consistent, and Compelling as possible. 
  • Uses past performance to improve new materials. 
  • Participates in the development of brand communications and style standards. 
  • Constructs copy in such a way as to be innovative, new, and persuasive to target audiences, while maintaining the unique messaging of each brand and customer type. 
  • Understands audience types and targets messages to engage each uniquely. 
  • Understands channel nuances and SEO strategies. 
  • Works with leadership to define positioning strategies for new products or services. 
  • Expertise in tone of voice standards for all MVW brands. 
  • Is knowledgeable of each product’s benefits, use options, and features. 
  • Utilizes the appropriate brand vernacular and preserves differentiation. 
  • Creates strong direct response copy. 
  • Communicates the vacation experience in descriptive and inspiring ways. 
  • Generates fluid and seamless sales messages for a variety of collateral and communications. 
  • Sells the destination and resort differentiators. 
  • Creates digital communications presenting varied marketing offers and subject lines that drive response. 
  • Writes materials to create excitement around co-sponsored promotions. 
  • Implements customer requirements and research to ensure relevant messaging. 
  • Develops and refines copy to ensure timely completion of project. 
  • Ensures that all client copy deliverables meet brand and communications standards. 
  • Proactively identifies and resolves problems. 
  • Takes ownership of projects that make sense and drives them to completion. 
  • Executes all proofreading needs with consistency and accuracy. 
  • Demonstrates expertise in intellectual property standards for all brands. 
  • Reviews for legal language as outlined in guide. 
  • Responds to law department feedback with revised copy that addresses all legal concerns while preserving the 4Cs (Clear, Concise, Consistent, Compelling). 
  • Documents changes and communicates to copy team. 
  • Proofs digital communications. 
  • Conducts research on industry trends, target audience, and competitors. 
  • Brainstorms ideas for content and campaigns with the marketing team. 
  • Writes and edits copy for various mediums such as social media posts, blog articles, product descriptions, and email marketing. 
  • Collaborates with designers and other team members to ensure content aligns with the brand's voice and aesthetic. 
  • Stays up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in copywriting. 

 Experience and skills: 

  • Experience hospitality industry writing preferred 
  • Editing and proofreading skills necessary 
  • Ability to present creative concepts and solutions to business leaders 
  • Discuss and interpret legal feedback into actionable copy within guidelines 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Creative writing experience preferred 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Works well in cross functional team environment 
  • Research abilities 
  • Strong customer focus and service skills required 
  • Good interpersonal skills for client interface and presentations
