The Role

As Senior Account Director, you are an integrated marketing leader with expertise in experiential marketing (XM). While experiential is your core discipline, you think beyond any single channel—developing integrated B2B and B2C strategies that connect live experiences with digital, social, retail, content and other touchpoints to maximize business impact.

You serve as a trusted senior advisor, business leader and champion of creative excellence, helping clients solve complex business challenges through Mint's Earned by Design philosophy. You will oversee a portfolio of national and international client relationships, shape integrated experiential strategies and ensure programs are delivered with operational excellence, measurable impact and commercial success.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams across strategy, creative, production, staffing and account management—creating the conditions for exceptional work, strong commercial performance and meaningful team growth.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Growth

  • Serve as a senior strategic advisor and escalation point for key clients.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, grounded in a deep understanding of their businesses, industries and growth priorities.
  • Lead integrated business planning across B2B and B2C initiatives, recommending the right mix of experiential, digital, social, retail, content and partnership solutions to achieve client objectives.
  • Champion Mint's Earned by Design philosophy by translating business challenges into integrated, experience-led solutions that clients confidently invest in.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing partnerships by introducing broader agency capabilities while maintaining experiential marketing as the strategic foundation.
  • Proactively anticipate challenges, provide strategic counsel and develop solutions that strengthen client trust and business outcomes.
  • Lead executive client reviews, annual planning sessions and discussions around future growth opportunities.

Experiential Strategy & Creative Excellence

  • Serve as Mint's senior experiential marketing expert across your client portfolio.
  • Lead the development of experiential marketing strategies while ensuring they integrate seamlessly with broader B2B and B2C marketing ecosystems.
  • Set the strategic direction for experiential programs, ensuring ideas connect brand ambition, audience insight and measurable business outcomes.
  • Champion progressive and audacious creative work, helping teams develop breakthrough experiences and clients confidently buy into them.
  • Act as a steward of creative excellence across the experiential portfolio while ensuring programs align with broader integrated marketing strategies.
  • Foster seamless collaboration between Account Management, Strategy, Creative, Production, Staffing and external partners.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of experiential trends, emerging technologies, consumer behaviour and cultural shifts to strengthen Mint's point of view and client offering.
  • Represent Mint as a senior experiential marketing thought leader with clients, partners and the broader industry.

Commercial & Operational Leadership

  • Own the financial performance of the client portfolio, including revenue, profitability, forecasting, utilization and overall P&L management.
  • Oversee scopes, budgets, timelines and resources to ensure experiential and integrated programs are commercially sound and delivered with excellence.
  • Establish clear operating rhythms, governance and accountability across complex multidisciplinary programs.
  • Review business and program performance, identify key insights and develop action plans to address risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain visibility across multiple concurrent initiatives while ensuring quality, efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Ensure final program reporting includes meaningful insights, measurable outcomes and strategic recommendations that create future business opportunities.

New Business

  • Lead experiential and integrated new business opportunities, proposals and competitive pitches.
  • Bring a strong strategic and creative perspective that positions Mint as a differentiated partner for experience-led marketing.
  • Confidently articulate and sell Mint's Earned by Design philosophy, demonstrating how experience-led ideas create meaningful business impact.
  • Build compelling commercial and strategic narratives that connect client challenges with Mint's integrated capabilities.
  • Partner with agency leadership to identify growth opportunities across existing and prospective clients, helping expand Mint's experiential practice and broader integrated offering.

People & Practice Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop senior account and experiential leaders, creating clear expectations and accountability for performance.
  • Build a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team environment.
  • Maintain meaningful visibility into direct reports' work, workloads, development needs and career aspirations.
  • Strengthen Mint's experiential marketing practice through thoughtful resource planning, talent development, succession planning and capability building.
  • Establish consistent standards, effective processes and operational excellence across the department.
  • Mentor teams to think beyond individual channels while maintaining best-in-class experiential expertise.
  • Model senior leadership behaviours and contribute to the broader direction, culture and commercial success of Mint.

Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in experiential marketing, integrated marketing or agency account leadership.
  • Deep expertise in integrated and experiential marketing (XM) is required, with demonstrated success leading large-scale programs from strategy through execution.
  • Proven ability to develop integrated marketing strategies that connect experiential with digital, social, retail, content and partnership channels.
  • Strong understanding of both B2B and B2C marketing, customer journeys and business objectives.
  • Experience leading complex national and international client portfolios and building executive-level client relationships.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to translate business challenges into integrated, experience-led marketing solutions.
  • Demonstrated success presenting and selling strategic recommendations, creative ideas and integrated programs to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing scopes, forecasting, profitability and complex client portfolios.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across Strategy, Creative, Production, Staffing and Account Management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Passion for innovation, culture and creating experiences that earn attention, participation and advocacy through Mint's Earned by Design philosophy.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of Mint’s total rewards program.
