We are looking for a sharp, motivated and creative Production Manager who thrives in high-impact environments and is passionate about delivering top-tier audio and video content. This is a vital role in the day-to-day operations and combines project management, technical expertise, and collaboration in the creation of engaging, high quality episodes.

Your Mission
As Production Manager, you will be at the heart of our studio operations, maintaining the entire production cycle--from pre-production planning through post-production delivery —all while maintaining quality standards, team collaboration, healthy resource capacities, and supporting the production team in meeting all deadlines. 

Reporting to the Managing Producer, you’ll be both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator guiding and improving the studio’s operational workflows. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with production and creative teams, excellent communication and project management skills, and is a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate closely with members of the producing team on all aspects of production - across pre-production, recordings, and post-production.
  • Pre-production:
    • Manage resourcing, task assignments, and deadlines for all pre-production deliverables
    • Collaborate with booking agency and Managing Producer to align guest appearances and studio schedules 
    • Create and distribute run of shows for every production 
  • Production:
    • Monitor and maintain production schedules
    • Coordinate team and talent communications to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned 
    • Ensure studio technical setup (audio, lighting, video equipment) meet our brand and quality standards and are operate as expected 
  • Post-production:
    • Supervise post-production tasks including editing schedules and deadlines, resourcing, task assignments and reviews 
    • Oversee content delivery processes, ensuring timely and seamless delivery of assets to publishing partners
    • Uphold brand standards in final outputs--every file, every time 
  • Operational Excellence: 
    • Assist with maintaining budgets and expense tracking
    • Manage our revenue-generating ad and partnership workflows – resource management, task assignments and deadlines, and delivery of final content at quality standards
    • Maintain an always-on resourcing dashboard for a view of workload across the production team 
    • Maintain all assets within 143 Studio’s file system and digital asset manager
    • Maintain equipment inventory list between our studio spaces
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in audio and video production to keep our team ahead of the curve 
    • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment - you bring calm to chaos

Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of experience in resource and project management with teams in the audio and video production space, experience in podcasting is a plus
  • Very strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Mastery expertise in Google Suite, Dropbox, and project management software (e.g. Monday.com, Asana or similar)
  • Advanced knowledge of production software such as Descript, Pro Tools, and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Strong ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical and logistical issues quickly and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership 
  • Understanding of audio and video production workflows (pre-production, recording, post-production)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail
  • A go-getter with a can-do, system and solutions-driven work ethic
  • Comfortable in a fast paced production environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Boston, MA
