Public Relations Specialist

Hybrid in Boston, MA

Who are we?

143 Studios is the award-winning media production company behind The Mel Robbins Podcast -- one of the top ranking podcasts in the world. We’re also the same team behind The Let Them Theory, a cultural phenomenon with over 5 million copies sold in 5 months, and six #1 Audible Originals. Every day, our work inspires more than 30 million online followers around the world and reaches hundreds of millions of people monthly.

About the Role

143 Studios, home of The Mel Robbins Podcast and one of the fastest growing media brands in the world, is hiring a Public Relations Specialist. This is a hands-on role focused on the back end of press operations: writing sharp press materials, maintaining press kits, coordinating interviews, and ensuring that every media opportunity is executed seamlessly. You’ll support our Senior Marketing Manager and external PR agency—who lead pitching and media relationships—while you keep the systems, content, and follow-through organized and effective.

This is a chance to put your writing and organizational skills to work for a mission-driven company that’s changing lives at scale, and to play a critical role in amplifying one of the most trusted and recognized voices in personal development. You’ll be a behind-the-scenes driver making sure press operations run smoothly and effectively across the team and our agency partners.

This role also requires a strong understanding of the broader cultural landscape, 143 Studios’ long-term trajectory, positioning, and current social and cultural media environment —so that every press opportunity fits into the bigger narrative of the brand.

Why This Role Matters

Our brand impacts millions of people every week through podcasts, books, live events, and global media. Your work ensures that the brand’s voice reaches the world consistently, clearly, and at scale.

Your Mission

In this role, you’ll support the Senior Manager of Marketing Campaigns & Strategic Initiatives to ensure our press efforts run seamlessly. Working closely with our PR agency, you’ll keep the press engine organized internally—managing content, maintaining the press kit, and coordinating the details that make every external press interview and launch successful. Your mission is to turn every media opportunity into lasting impact by keeping systems sharp, content polished, and insights flowing back to the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Press Operations & Coordination: Support the Senior Marketing Manager in day-to-day press execution, ensuring all interviews, launches, and announcements are organized, documented, and delivered smoothly.
  • Copywriting and Content Development: Write press materials, media kits, briefs, and supporting content in the brand’s voice; craft copy that communicates clearly to press, partners, and audiences, ensuring all assets are polished, current, and distribution-ready.
  • Press Support & Q&A: Provide accurate, timely responses to inbound press questions—coordinating with the PR agency and internal experts as needed—so information is consistent, professional, and on-brand. (Note: pitching and media relationship management remain with the agency.)
  • Agency Partnership: Collaborate closely with our external PR agency—providing background research, content support, and coordination—while they manage pitching and media relationships.
  • Talent Support & Briefing: Prepare background research, talking points, and tailored Q&A materials to equip talent for interviews and press opportunities, ensuring messaging is clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate.
  • System & Asset Management: Maintain press kits and manage the organization of all press-related content, ensuring quick access and accuracy; coordinate press clip creation and syndication efforts with internal teams.
  • Sentiment & Insights: Partner with community managers to monitor social media coverage and audience sentiment; analyze press performance and provide clear insights and recommendations back to the team.
  • Event Support: Assist with press and promotional efforts tied to podcast milestones, book launches, live events, and speaking engagements.
  • Multi-Project Management: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, coordinate schedules, and manage logistics without missing details.
  • Cultural & Narrative Awareness: Keep a pulse on cultural trends, the media environment, and the brand’s long-term positioning to ensure every press opportunity fits within the bigger story of 143 Studios and Mel Robbins.
  • Confidentiality & Liaison Role: Act as a trusted point of coordination across teams—anticipating challenges, protecting sensitive information, and ensuring all stakeholders are informed of schedules, logistics, and Mel’s availability for PR and interviews.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
