About the Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled Video Editor to join our Post Production team. This role is focused on shaping compelling, emotionally resonant long-form podcast and video content from raw footage through final delivery.

You’ll work closely with producers and the post-production team to craft polished episodes that maintain pacing, strengthen storytelling, and elevate the viewer experience. The ideal candidate has strong editorial instincts, understands conversational storytelling, and can balance technical execution with emotional impact.

This role is heavily focused on long-form editing, narrative pacing, visual polish, motion graphics integration, and creating highly engaging short-form content optimized for social platforms.

The ideal candidate understands how to transform long-form conversations into emotionally compelling, high-retention content across platforms while maintaining the integrity of the story and brand voice.

Day-to-Day

This role is highly collaborative and fast-paced. On a typical day, you’ll move between long-form episode editing, social cutdowns, motion graphics work, creative reviews, and iterative feedback sessions with producers and the post-production team.

You’ll regularly:

  • Edit long-form podcast and interview content from raw footage through final delivery
  • Create high-performing short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and emerging social platforms
  • Review footage to identify compelling emotional moments, strong hooks, and engaging story beats
  • Shape narrative pacing, emotional arcs, and conversational flow to create impactful storytelling moments
  • Build dynamic cold opens, teasers, and viral-ready clips that immediately capture audience attention
  • Use pacing, jump cuts, music, sound design, tension, silence, and visual rhythm to elevate storytelling and emotional impact
  • Adapt storytelling styles and editing approaches based on platform behavior and audience consumption patterns
  • Collaborate closely with producers to refine narrative structure, emotional clarity, and audience experience across all content
  • Continuously experiment with new editing techniques, retention strategies, and social storytelling formats
  • Edit multi-camera interviews, conversational content, and documentary-style segments with strong editorial judgment
  • Manage timeline organization, syncing, media workflows, versioning, and project management
  • Incorporate music, sound design, captions, graphics, and motion elements to strengthen clarity and engagement
  • Design and implement motion graphics, animated typography, lower thirds, visual callouts, and transitions
  • Create visually dynamic edits through kinetic text, compositing, zooms, punch-ins, speed ramps, and animated social graphics
  • Optimize edits for multiple aspect ratios and platform deliverables, including vertical, square, and widescreen formats
  • Apply color correction, audio cleanup, and finishing polish to final deliverables
  • Maintain organized project files, exports, templates, and archival systems
  • Stay current on evolving social trends, platform best practices, creator content styles, and audience engagement techniques
  • Balance multiple fast-moving projects and deadlines in a high-volume production environment
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards while continuing to push creative quality and innovation

Key Responsibilities

Long & Short Form Editing

  • Edit full-length podcast/video episodes, trailers, and short-form social content from raw footage through final delivery
  • Build rough cuts, implement producer feedback, and manage iterative revisions
  • Shape pacing, emotional beats, and narrative structure to maximize viewer retention and engagement
  • Craft emotionally impactful edits that strengthen storytelling, tension, clarity, and audience connection
  • Create platform-native short-form edits optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other vertical platforms
  • Identify compelling hooks, emotional moments, viral-ready clips, and high-retention story beats from long-form conversations
  • Build dynamic cold opens, teasers, and social-first edits designed to immediately capture audience attention
  • Use pacing, jump cuts, music, sound design, silence, and visual rhythm to elevate storytelling and emotional impact
  • Adapt editing approaches and storytelling styles based on platform behavior and audience consumption patterns
  • Continuously experiment with retention editing strategies, pacing techniques, and emerging social storytelling formats
  • Manage multi-cam edits, syncing, timeline organization, and media workflows
  • Incorporate music, sound design, graphics, captions, and motion elements to enhance storytelling
  • Apply audio cleanup, color correction, and finishing polish
  • Integrate branded graphics, lower thirds, and visual templates
  • Collaborate closely with producers and post-production teams throughout the edit process
  • Maintain organized project files, exports, templates, and archival systems

Motion Graphics & Visual Enhancement

  • Create and implement motion graphics and animated visual elements within long-form episodes and short-form content
  • Develop dynamic motion graphic packages and animated visual systems for social and episodic content
  • Leverage animated typography, visual callouts, transitions, compositing, and supporting graphics to enhance clarity and engagement
  • Design high-impact hooks, captions, kinetic text, and visual pacing strategies tailored for social platforms
  • Create visually dynamic edits using motion design, zooms, punch-ins, speed ramps, animated graphics, and compositing techniques
  • Support visual storytelling through motion design, animation, and creative post-production techniques
  • Work within established brand guidelines to maintain visual consistency across all content

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7+ years of professional video editing experience across both long-form and short-form content
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in podcast, interview, documentary-style, and social-first content
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro & After Effects
  • Advanced motion graphics and animation skills, including animated typography, kinetic text, compositing, visual storytelling, transitions, and branded motion systems
  • Strong proficiency in Cinema 4D or equivalent 3D/motion design software is a plus
  • Deep understanding of pacing, retention editing, storytelling structure, emotional storytelling, and platform-specific audience behavior
  • Experience creating highly engaging short-form content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other vertical platforms
  • Strong understanding of social-first editing styles, audience hooks, watch-time optimization, and engagement-driven storytelling
  • Experience editing multi-camera productions, long-form interviews, and conversational content
  • Ability to create and integrate motion graphics, visual callouts, animated infographics, and dynamic visual treatments that enhance narrative clarity and engagement
  • Strong understanding of sound design, music pacing, color correction, and finishing workflows
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across complex post-production pipelines
  • Ability to manage multiple edits, fast turnaround timelines, and iterative feedback in a high-volume production environment
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally with producers, creatives, and social teams
  • Passion for creating emotionally impactful content that reaches and inspires millions of people
