Senior Human Resources Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW
This role supports the delivery of HR projects, policies, programs, and procedures. You will focus on tasks with the usage of core platforms supporting HR initiatives.
This SR HR Specialist position will sit at the 174 Power Global location in Houston, TX reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with HR team to manage new hire setup and onboarding requirements
- Assists with candidate pre-boarding activities, onboarding, off boarding activities
- Coordinate the on-boarding process including scheduling orientation and new hire paperwork
- Prepare all required documentation necessary to process payroll.
- Perform all required pre-employment background checks and license/certification verification.
- Maintain personnel files.
- Provide general guidance to staff around people, policies, and programs.
- Support and assist with company-wide policy and initiative roll-out
- Provide friendly support and advice for staff on simple policy and procedure questions
- Support broader People initiatives around employee engagement, performance management and retention.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, union and federal regulatory agency regulations and requirements.
- Create and manage internal HR communications within the company
- Assist in creating and managing company social media postings and creating ways of increasing company branding within our industry.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, IT, accounting, or related field (Preferred)
- Insist on the highest standards, have an outstanding work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence.
- Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize work schedule and transition between projects and tasks seamlessly to meet deadlines and business needs.
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, creativity, and agility.
- Accountable for accuracy and timeliness of work within the department.
- Solid attention to detail in composing and proofing documents, prioritizing, and achieving desired outcomes promptly.
- Strong service orientation with a proven desire to go above and beyond.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues as an employee in Human Resources.
- A team player with a professional demeanor with sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential matters.
- Ability to effectively use typical business and HR tools including HRIS systems, HR Intranet Site, MS Office, etc.
- Must not now nor in the future require visa sponsorship to maintain work authorization.
- Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
$70,000 - $85,000 Salary
