Senior Director, Business Development – Gas-Fired Power Plant

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Director, Business Development will lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition and development opportunities for gas-fired power plant projects. This role oversees end-to-end project planning, internal coordination, commercial evaluation, and external affairs while ensuring the successful delivery of major power infrastructure projects in the U.S.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and evaluate acquisition or development targets; lead overall project planning and internal coordination.
- Conduct feasibility studies and due diligence for business development initiatives.
- Manage commercial evaluations, financial modeling, investment analysis, and budgeting.
- Analyze site conditions and oversee permitting processes and external affairs.
- Oversee grid interconnection review in collaboration with relevant internal teams.
- Coordinate gas sourcing requirements for development projects with internal teams.
- Perform commercial and contract management activities associated with development projects.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead collaboration with relevant project teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in power plant business development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, budgets, quality, and risk for large-scale power plant projects.
- Proven skills in identifying new business opportunities, market analysis, commercial feasibility assessments, and contract negotiations.
- Preferably possess specialized knowledge of gas turbine power generation (environmental, safety, electrical systems).
- Experience with permitting procedures, environmental impact assessments, and negotiations with regulatory agencies for U.S. power projects.
- Strong collaboration, stakeholder communication, and team management abilities.
- Financial and commercial acumen for assessing profitability, marketability, investment feasibility, and structuring project financing.
- Experience negotiating power purchase agreements (PPA), vendor, and supplier contracts.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, energy, business, economics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Compensation: $200,000 - $240,000 salary
