Technical SEO Manager

Draper, UT (Hybrid)

Who we are

SeekWell is the parent company of 1-800 Contacts, Luna, and The Framery. Our goal is to make it simpler, easier, and more accessible for people to get the vision care they need. We maintain the legendary, award-winning culture 1-800 Contacts started almost 30 years ago and continue to develop innovative, pioneering products and businesses that make consumers cheer. We’re owned by KKR – one of the world’s largest and most successful private equity investment companies. We’ve built an excellent company and changed an industry by putting the customer first, always. The best is yet to come!

Why you want this job

You will own technical SEO for 1800contacts and The Framery brands. You report to the Principal Product Manager for the website and work with engineering, product, content, and marketing so search engines and answer engines can find, understand, and surface these sites.

We need someone who already knows this work. You will set the technical standard, find what is broken, and tell the team what to fix and why it matters to organic traffic and revenue. Site speed, server-side rendering, and how these sites show up in AI-driven search are core to the role.

What you’ll do

  • Own the technical SEO health of 1800contacts.com and theFramery.com how pages are crawled, indexed, rendered, and ranked.
  • Own server-side rendering (SSR) for our Angular sites. Make sure product, category, and content pages are fully rendered for search engines, and partner with engineering when rendering, hydration, or routing gets in the way of indexation.
  • Own site speed. Improve Core Web Vitals and page experience (load time, stability, mobile) with engineering, and show the organic impact.
  • Apply answer-engine optimization (AEO) and AI optimization (AIO). Improve how these sites are cited and summarized in AI Overviews, answer engines, and similar surfaces, and turn that into concrete changes to content structure, structured data, and page experience.
  • Audit crawl and indexation: robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonicals, status codes, pagination, faceted navigation, and duplicate or thin URLs.
  • Define and maintain structured data (product, offer, breadcrumb, FAQ, organization, and related types) and keep it valid in Search Console.
  • Set rules for internal linking, URL structure, redirects, and site changes so launches and experiments do not drop organic traffic.
  • Use Google Search Console, crawl tools, log files, and analytics to find issues, prioritize them, and measure results.
  • Write clear recommendations for product and engineering: what to change, how to test it, and what “done” looks like.
  • Review website releases, experiments, and content templates for SEO, speed, and AEO/AIO risk before they go live.
  • Track rankings, index coverage, site speed, AI-search visibility, and organic revenue, and report what changed and what to do next.
  • Stay current on search engine, crawler, and answer-engine changes and turn them into practical work for these sites.

What you'll need

  • Several years of hands-on technical SEO on a large ecommerce or content site.
  • Hands-on experience with server-side rendering, including Angular SSR (or a close equivalent you can apply to an Angular site).
  • A track record of improving site speed and Core Web Vitals, and of tying those fixes to crawl, indexation, and organic results.
  • Working knowledge of AEO and AIO: how answer engines and AI search features select and cite pages, and what to change to improve that.
  • Proven work on crawl, indexation, canonicals, sitemaps, redirects, and rendering.
  • Hands-on use of Google Search Console, a crawler (such as Screaming Frog or Sitebulb), and analytics to tie technical fixes to traffic and revenue.
  • Experience with structured data.
  • Ability to explain technical issues in plain language and get engineering to ship the fix.
  • Comfort owning the work across more than one site: you find the problem, recommend the fix, and follow it through release.
  • Strong written communication and the habit of documenting standards the rest of the team can follow.
  • Experience with log-file analysis, international or hreflang setups, or large catalog sites.
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms and how A/B tests affect SEO.
  • Experience in retail, healthcare, or another regulated category.

Why we will love you

  • You go deep on rendering, speed, and AI search, and still connect it to customers finding and buying.
  • You are direct, specific, and easy to work with.
  • You care about quality on the live sites, not a one-time audit.

Perks

  • Free eye exams for your entire family
  • Deep discounts on lenses, glasses, and other services
  • Amazing healthcare coverage
  • 401(k) match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Tuition reimbursement program
  • In-house restaurant with highly discounted meals (Steak dinner under $6)
  • Free snacks, ice cream, and drinks every day
  • Full onsite gym
