The Opportunity
1848 Ventures is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate or graduate student to join our TakeUp team as a Data Analytics Intern. This 10-week internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the intersection of data analysis, experiment design, and data science, specifically supporting the business analytics for Takeup. TakeUp, our AI-powered dynamic pricing platform, helps independent property owners increase revenue and automate complex revenue management tasks. You will assist our team in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting customer data to inform commercial decisions, product development, and venture growth. This is a chance to learn from experienced professionals in an agile, diverse, and multi-disciplinary environment.
What You’ll Do
During your internship, you will:
- Author Interactive Reports & Dashboards - Use Metabase and its raw SQL capabilities to create interactive reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside software engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand how data informs product decisions.
- Embedded Analytics for Clients - Partner with Engineering and Product teams to standardize and author embedded Metabase dashboards that support our clients' analytics needs.
- Data Infrastructure & Enrichment - Incorporate industry and third-party data into our reporting data warehouse to further inform our venture growth opportunities.
- Shadowing and Mentorship: Participate in team discussions, shadow experienced engineers and data analysts and receive mentorship to enhance your skills and learn about the venture growth process.
Who You Are
We are looking for students who:
- Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, with a concentration in Engineering (Computer, Data, or related), Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Have a strong interest in the intersection of applied data analysis, product and business.
- Desire to contribute to data-driven business decisions and product development.
- Possess a strong understanding of statistical analysis.
- Have hands-on SQL experience.
- Are eager to learn and work with data visualization and engineering tools.
- Have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Possess solid communication skills and attention to detail.
- Are a team player.
- Have a basic understanding of, or interest in, experiment design.
Bonus Points If
- You have a genuine interest in early-stage startups and innovation.
- You have hand-on experience using Python for Data Analysis
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy tackling new challenges.
- You have experience with data visualization tools or machine learning libraries.
