Market Manager (Beverages, New Jersey) — 1906

New York

About 1906:

We started 1906 because we believe cannabis is the greatest medicine on earth. Our goal is to make cannabis a trusted, normal part of daily wellness with products that are easy to understand and easy to fit into your life and offer the most healthful format of cannabis available. 1906 is named for the last time cannabis was widely accepted as a beneficial medicine. The Wiley Act was enacted the following year, beginning nearly a century of misguided cannabis prohibition with devastating consequences. We say it’s high time to make cannabis accessible and understandable for all—for the greater good (and the greater fun).

Market Manager (Beverages, New Jersey) — 1906

Location: New Jersey (Field-based, statewide travel required)
Reports to: Head of National Sales
Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 base salary + performance bonus

About 1906

1906 is redefining the cannabis and functional beverage industries with fast-acting, innovative products that combine plant medicine and science for real results. We're building the future of cannabis edibles and THC-infused beverages, offering consumers smarter, more effective alternatives to alcohol and pharmaceuticals.

We don't follow trends — we set them. Our culture rewards bold thinking, speed, and accountability. If you're ready to build something disruptive in one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, this is it.

The Opportunity

New Jersey is one of 1906's top strategic markets for Off Duty, our THC beverage additive, and our upcoming 750ml cannabis spirits. We're looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Market Manager to lead our beverage expansion across NJ liquor stores and on-premise accounts (bars, restaurants, event venues).

You are the face of 1906 Beverages in New Jersey — building relationships, driving growth, and turning strategy into results. Working primarily through distribution partners, you'll collaborate closely with our internal dispensary sales team to ensure a unified, coordinated approach to growing our brand across all channels in the state.

Your success will be measured by:

  • Establishing 1906 in 200 accounts within the first 90 days
  • Achieving placement in 75% of target liquor stores within the first year
  • Reaching $200K in monthly sales within the first 120 days

The ideal candidate is resourceful, driven, and eager to build a winning brand from the ground up. You'll play a hands-on role actively engaging with accounts, shaping the market approach, and driving significant growth as the business expands.

Who You Are (and Why We'll Love You)

We're looking for a results-driven operator who thrives in the field. Someone who doesn't wait for permission, doesn't flinch at ambiguity, and definitely doesn't need a playbook to build something from zero.

You excel in early-stage growth environments — comfortable in your car, in-store, on your feet, and in the details. You don't just sell; you execute. You've closed the deal, built the display, troubleshot the logistics, and still made it to the next account on time.

You know how to read a room, whether it's a liquor store buyer, a distributor sales team, or a crowd at a weekend tasting event. You're strategic and scrappy in equal measure. You track performance meticulously and communicate with clarity. You treat every new door as a stepping stone to real scale.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
