Counselor – Inpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Location: Newport News, VALicensure Required: LPC, LCSW, Licensed-Eligible Resident, or CSAC Position Summary As a Counselor, you will play a key role in guiding clients toward lasting recovery. This position involves delivering high-quality clinical services, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to a safe, therapeutic, and supportive treatment environment. Schedule 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM including alternating weekends. Key Responsibilities Develop and review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team Facilitate individual therapy, family sessions, and therapeutic group sessions Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the EHR system Provide documentation and support for utilization reviews as needed Coordinate care with referral sources and outpatient providers Assist in developing aftercare plans and tracking client outcomes Contribute to curriculum development and participate in staff training initiatives Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary Qualifications Licensure: LPC, LCSW, Licensed-Eligible Resident, or CSAC (required) Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (preferred) Skills & Experience: Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage crisis situations effectively Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Join Us Make a meaningful impact at Pyramid Healthcare.
