About the Team

The People and Culture team is committed to creating a fulfilling and inspiring place to work for all of the people who deliver that client experience - from our warehouse team to tech talent to merchants to stylists. We pride ourselves on creating a fun and collaborative environment where we solve problems together. We are looking for people and culture leaders who are bright, kind and motivated by challenge to join our team.

About the Role

You will serve as the senior People & Culture leader supporting both Technology (e.g., Engineering, Product) and Corporate (e.g., Marketing, Merchandising) functions. Your time will be equally divided between both areas, supporting executive leadership with people strategy, leading a team of People Business Partners, and personally executing high-priority initiatives.  This role plays an integral role in the health and success of the organization by collaborating with key cross functional business leaders to identify, develop, and implement strategies that meet the needs of the business. This includes developing a deep understanding of the functional goals and business, ensuring that the function has the right talent, structure, culture and processes in place to drive and sustain impact. You will also coach and guide your team while remaining close enough to the work to step in directly when needed.

In this position, you will lead teams in solving complex organizational challenges through people-related solutions. This will require you to think big picture, use data continually to guide your work, be comfortable challenging convention, and in some cases, reinvent how work is done. In our model at Stitch Fix, the business partner builds strong people management skills within the leadership team. You will also work in close partnership with the Talent, Learning and Development, and Total Rewards/Operations leaders on the People and Culture team to develop these strategies.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Lead in our quest to revolutionize human resources, challenge the status quo, and radically simplify people processes.
  • Champion and embody the Stitch Fix culture, mission, and values.
  • Strategically partner with senior and executive leaders across Corporate and Tech functions to assess talent gaps, org health, and leadership needs.
  • Directly manage and develop a team of People Business Partners, ensuring delivery excellence and long-term growth for each team member.
  • Partner with our People Managers to help them build and develop their people and organizations.
  • Partner with leaders on complex challenges such as performance, succession, workforce planning, and employee relations—balancing business risk and employee care.
  • Execute critical people programs directly—such as talent calibrations, organizational design efforts, or ER escalations—where deep expertise is required.
  • Demonstrate your exceptional talents at putting the people first, and bring clarity and transparency in helping others understand how people decisions get made.
  • Bring an orientation toward creating an equitable experience for all employees, with a keen eye toward mitigating bias and driving improvements in organizational health from a DEI perspective
  • You have strong expertise in total compensation strategy, with the ability to both execute programs and clearly communicate them to leaders and employees—whether through trainings, one-on-one coaching, or simplifying complex changes into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional group of subject matter experts to design and execute your strategy for how we staff, onboard, develop, motivate, retain and organize work.
  • Execute work side by side with our people to drive results  in a variety of people related areas. As a core part of this hands-on work, you will be rolling out programs to support the People and Culture team, including compensation, performance and talent programs.
  • Provide insightful data to guide decision-making and offer proactive solutions.
  • Use data and storytelling to influence decisions, assess risk, and identify opportunities to strengthen organizational health.

We're excited about you because...

  • You bring 10+ years of progressive People or HR experience, with a strong focus on strategic support for tech organizations and customer-facing corporate departments.
  • Within that, you have at least 5 years of dedicated HR Business Partner experience.
  • You possess a deep understanding of and have successfully navigated the complexities of working with Engineering, Product, and Algorithms teams.
  • You're a trusted partner who has consistently collaborated with tech and corporate leaders to build strategic people plans, solve complex problems, and effectively influence change.
  • You have a strong track record of executive-level influence and have coached leaders through scale, change, and transformation.
  • You’re knowledgeable in multiple human resource disciplines including employee engagement and retention, organizational development and design, employee relations, and performance management.
  • You’ve led through complex lifecycle moments across both individual contributors and leaders, including restructures, succession planning, and ER escalations.
  • You are exceptionally organized and  thrive in high-volume, fast-paced and feedback driven environments.
  • Cross-functional communication comes naturally to you in solving problems and addressing roadblocks.
  • You’re highly self-motivated, have a stellar work ethic and you’re looking for the right company to support your growth.

Why you'll love working at Stitch Fix...

  • We are a group of bright, kind people who are motivated by challenge. We value integrity, innovation and trust. You’ll bring these characteristics to life in everything you do at Stitch Fix.
  • We cultivate a community of diverse perspectives— all voices are heard and valued.
  • We are an innovative company and leverage our strengths in fashion and tech to disrupt the future of retail.
  • We win as a team, commit to our work, and celebrate grit together because we value strong relationships.
