What We Need

2K Japan is seeking an Associate Manager, Social & Community Marketing to support our efforts in social media engagement, community building, and influencer marketing for our console titles.

This role is ideal for someone who understands Japan’s gaming community, stays up to date with local social media and influencer trends, and has experience in community engagement.

You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to help grow 2K’s presence in Japan by fostering strong player communities and collaborating with influencers to promote our games.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Community Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow 2K Japan’s official social channels (X, YouTube, and others), engaging with players and fostering a strong community.
  • Monitor community sentiment and use data-driven insights to develop strategies that enhance engagement.
  • Support the creation and localization of social content, ensuring it resonates with the Japanese audience.
  • Organize and execute community activations, such as online tournaments, fan events, and in-game initiatives.
  • Work closely with regional and global teams to ensure all messaging aligns with 2K’s global brand voice.

Influencer Marketing

  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with gaming influencers, VTubers, and content creators to amplify 2K’s brand reach.
  • Coordinate influencer campaigns, ensuring brand alignment and maximizing engagement impact.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and internal teams to execute effective influencer activations.
  • Track influencer performance and community engagement, providing insights to optimize future collaborations.
  • Negotiate partnerships and sponsorships to maximize ROI for influencer collaborations.

What Will Make You A Great Fit

  • 3+ years of experience in social media, community management, or influencer marketing within the gaming or entertainment industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Japanese gaming community, social media trends, and influencer landscape.
  • Strong familiarity with Japanese entertainment subcultures (anime, manga, cosplay, Pixiv, NicoNico, etc.).
  • Familiarity with console gaming marketing (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch).
  • Experience managing social media platforms (e.g., X, YouTube, TikTok, LINE, Discord) and optimizing social media campaigns.
  • Strong communication skills in Japanese (native level) and English (business level preferred).
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in social listening, analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Passion for gaming, particularly 2K’s titles or Western console games.
