Located in Vancouver, BC, 2K Sports Lab is a small collective being formed within 2K Games that is driving the research and development of future sports interactive entertainment programs. Within this group, speculative work will be done on future sports games with an eye towards taking the magic of 2K’s publishing and development expertise and applying them to future opportunities.

What We Need

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Audio Software Engineer who enjoys a collaborative and creative work environment and is looking to lead the effort to push the boundaries of cutting-edge Audio. You will work collaboratively with Design, Animation, Audio, and Art to build new systems from the ground up, starting with prototyping, and carrying them all the way to a polished state. 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the technical design of audio technologies for current and future projects.

  • Optimize the export and build pipeline for audio content.

  • Develop tools and champion processes to streamline the work needed to author the audio environment.

  • Design and implement code that facilitates the interaction between our game engine and Audiokinetic’s Wwise audio middleware.

  • Collaborate with audio designers to identify bottlenecks and ways to improve their pipeline.

  • Optimize audio game subsystems by taking full advantage of target hardware and architecture.

  • Create and maintain easily digestible documentation by engineers and designers.

  • Keep current on technological developments and advancements in the game industry.

  • Participate in the development of low-level systems like streaming, generic serialization, entity system and more

 

What Will Make You A Great Fit

  • 7+ years of programming experience on commercial software projects.

  • Experience developing for AAA games

  • Shipped one or more AAA game titles

  • Experience with multi-threaded programming.

  • Experience developing for multi-platform software projects, including game consoles.

  • Expertise in C/C++

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 development

  • Experience with Audiokinetic’s Wwise tools and libraries

  • Strong 3D math skills and audio/DSP concepts

  • Ability to research, analyze and optimize code to meet performance requirements

  • Ability to learn and master new technologies and code

The pay range for this position in British Columbia at the start of employment is expected to be between $105,100 and $168,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
