Sr Manager, Commercial Strategy & Operations - 2K Sports Lab

London, England, United Kingdom

Who We Are

At 2K, we build some of the most iconic and culture-shaping video games in entertainment. In 2023, we expanded our publishing arm across 2K Sports Lab, our latest stand-alone studio that is shaping an ambitious plan to redefine the future of sports games. We're currently building a world-class team to build the next iconic sports franchise that’s rooted in bold ideas, innovative experiences and a laser focus on players and fans.

What We Need

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Manager to join the 2K Sports Commercial Strategy & Operations team.

This person will report directly to the VP, Commercial Strategy & Operations - 2K Sports and will be leading the commercial strategy for an exciting new Sports IP. While this starts out as an individual contributor role, the role is expected to build out a team over time, which is why we’re looking for someone with leadership potential.

Our Commercial team is responsible for franchise P&L management, (long-term) growth strategy and commercial operations. We partner across the business (Product, Marketing, Development, Sales, Finance & Analytics) to align on business priorities and execute against them.

The ideal candidate will have proven credentials in defining strategies and driving growth of a consumer product or service across multiple territories. They will combine rigorous market and performance analysis alongside formulation of innovative strategies and a drive to see them executed. Experience working in video games or sports is not expected, however the candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced, consumer-focused technology company, and a demonstrable passion for games, sports, or both.

Candidates must be bright, passionate, and hands-on – willing to dive into details and get things done, while not losing sight of the bigger picture. They will be comfortable working with a range of junior to senior stakeholders, demonstrating leadership and demonstrating a growth mindset to continuously develop themselves and their team.

What You Will Do

  • Identify, define and drive innovative commercial strategies that will drive success for our franchises through new business models, pricing strategies, partnerships and content
  • Independently build business cases to analyse new strategic ideas, through rigorous analysis of internal data and market benchmarks
  • Rigorously track costs of our franchises to ensure projects stay within budget
  • Work with external partners and distributors to ensure success of our franchises in the marketplace
  • Create detailed forecasts for our franchises which can be used for planning purposes by partner teams and senior leadership
  • Clearly present findings to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Collaborate with various functional teams to turn ideas in reality and drive execution

Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit

  • Experience in a strategy, commercial or business development role in a fast-moving digital business (e.g. video games, e-commerce, digital media, sports, subscription businesses, or another consumer internet)
  • Other relevant prior experience could be in strategy/management consulting, investment banking, private equity or in-house strategy
  • Experience working in the video games industry is not required, but familiarity or passion for the sector is a big plus, as is familiarity or passion for sports
  • If no experience with video games, a willingness to gain an in-depth understanding is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study (e.g. business, economics, (computer) science, mathematics)
  • Ability to independently build business cases / financial models in Excel from scratch
  • Innovation mindset, staying on top of industry trends and pushing to be a first-mover
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of clearly presenting findings
  • Integrity in working with others across various levels and personality types, and ability to successfully navigate a global organization
  • Proficiency in SQL is a plus, otherwise a willingness to learn this

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
