What We Need

Are you a visionary technical architect who thrives on defining the future of AI-native software quality? Our 2K Technology QA team is seeking a Staff Software Quality Engineer to serve as the principal technical architect for our QA AI SDLC, partnering with elite engineering teams and external partners to transform how we build and test game technology.

As one of the most recognized and talented technology companies in the world today, we strive to hire team members who are customer-centric, motivated, and bring new perspectives. We offer an extensive benefits package for full-time employees that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, and ESPP.

Duties

Architect & System Design

  • Serve as the principal architect for the QA AI SDLC, defining its technical roadmap, system design, and seamless integration into 2K’s broader enterprise AI SDLC.

  • Work hand-in-hand with Amazon FDEs and 2K Tech leadership to co-architect, build, and refine our agentic QA platform (Kiro Crew, Agent Core) to ensure it performs to exact operational specifications.

  • Establish technical governance, evaluation benchmarks, and human-in-the-loop review frameworks for AI agent autonomy and tool reliability.

  • Evaluate existing internal QA tools and engine integrations, architecting novel AI-powered solutions to eliminate high-friction technical bottlenecks.

Technical Leadership & High-Impact Engineering

  • Solve the most intricate architectural edge cases, memory issues, and distributed systems challenges requiring expert-level coding across C++, Go, JavaScript, and Java.

  • Guide the technical evolution of Playwright automation, observability integrations in Datadog, and SDK validation across Unreal Engine and Unity platforms.

  • Serve as the primary technical thought partner for engineering directors, principal developers, and external technical consultants.

  • Elevate technical standards across the organization through architectural reviews, code reviews, and technical mentorship for SQE I, II, and III engineers.

Must-Haves

  • A passion for games and an established track record of technical leadership in software architecture, QA engineering, or developer platform tooling.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferred) or equivalent experience with 7+ years in software engineering, QA architecture, or technical leadership.

  • Expert-level architecture skills in designing complex testing systems, AI SDLC workflows, and agentic orchestration platforms (Kiro Crew, Agent Core, Cursor).

  • Deep programming mastery in C++, Go, JavaScript, or Java, alongside hands-on expertise in game engine architecture (Unreal Engine, Unity) and SDK design.

  • Demonstrated success leading technical collaborations with Amazon FDEs, principal architects, or enterprise consulting teams.

  • Advanced expertise in observability platforms (Datadog), Playwright frameworks, CI/CD orchestration, and modern cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience as a former manager or tech lead who has intentionally chosen an Individual Contributor path to drive maximum technical impact is a strong plus.
