Business Intelligence Analyst III

What We’re Looking For:

This role serves as a senior analyst, specializing in constructing data models and visualizations to support analytics, analysis, and data modelling. This includes generating data-driven insights to advance the company's objectives and inform operational decision-making.  This senior position entails mentoring junior team members and influencing project direction. This role has key technical input into business critical, medium-high complexity data sets and spans singular product lines and/or business functions.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Technical 

  • Cleanse and verify data integrity, enhancing data sources when required
  • Exhibit best coding practices, adeptness in dashboard design, and proficiency in transformation tools
  • Analyze data to deliver data-driven insights using proven data mining techniques. 
  • Visualize data insights, communicate findings, and engage in data engineering tasks to optimise data pipelines and enhance analytical capabilities  

Management 

  • Effectively leverage knowledge, expertise and experience to lead and deliver projects
  • Effectively support and mentor analysts

Business 

  • Collaborate with other analysts and stakeholders to execute projects
  • Leverage business knowledge to enhance business performance
  • Help guide business when making technical decisions

Personal 

  • Perform research and constantly stays on top of the industry’s trends
  • Engage and proactively seek opportunities for improvement through ongoing learning

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data visualization, or analytics.
  • A Tableau certification would be preferred for this role.
  • Skilled in business intelligence, data analysis, analytics engineering.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL and Data Visualization, efficiently & effectively applies best dashboard design practices and demonstrates ability to upskill/assist others.
  • Advanced understanding of Apache Airflow, DBT and APIs; demonstrates proficiency in building data models and assisting in upskilling/assisting others.
  • Skilled understanding of version control; efficiently create pull requests, collaborate, debug/track issues, document and host code.
  • Independently develop complex dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Experience with data modelling tools, such as dbt.

  • Demonstrates expert understanding, introduces new tools/methodologies, and provides team training to enhance productivity.
  • Tailors messages for audience understanding, engages respectfully in team meetings, synthesizes thoughts effectively, presents confidently, and actively listens to stakeholders.
  • Consistently builds and maintains key stakeholder relationships, perceived as a trusted partner, offers sound guidance, and navigates challenging relationships effectively
