What We’re Looking For:
The Senior Manager, Technical Operations is an experienced technical leader responsible for overseeing internal systems, operational platforms, and enterprise tools that power business execution across the organization. This role leads a team focused on system scalability, automation, data integrity, and operational excellence across internal technical environments.
The Senior Manager partners closely with Engineering, Product, IT, Security, and functional business leaders to strengthen system architecture, optimize integrations, and ensure reliable, scalable technical operations. This role drives standardization of system processes, reduces manual dependencies through automation, and governs technical best practices across platforms.
The Senior Manager, Technical Operations influences departmental technical strategy and ensures internal systems are aligned with long-term scalability, security, and performance goals. This leader is accountable for cross-functional technical initiatives, operational tooling strategy, and continuous improvement of enterprise systems. Additionally, this role influences operations and productivity within their function, ensuring efficient execution and optimization of team performance. The role does not carry an individual contributor workload but is responsible for delegation, prioritization, and delivery oversight across their team.
Technical Operations establishes and maintains governance frameworks, system documentation standards, integration best practices, and operational performance metrics. The team supports internal-facing systems and tools across regions and product lines to ensure reliability, scalability, and data accuracy.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
People & Technical Stakeholder Leadership
- Hire, manage, and mentor a team of technical operations analysts, systems administrators, and tool owners.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Engineering, Product, IT, Data, Security, and senior business leaders (SVP and below).
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical system solutions.
- Identify technical risk areas, system constraints, and escalation points; lead resolution efforts.
- Serve as a technical advisor on internal tools, integrations, system governance, and operational architecture.
- Drive adoption of standardized system configurations and best practices across departments.
Technical Program & Systems Management
- Lead planning and execution of cross-functional technical initiatives focused on internal system scalability, automation, and optimization.
- Identifies, recommends and implements process and system improvements to enhance performance
- Analyzes and resolves operations issues by leveraging expertise in functional systems
- Own operational tooling roadmap across platforms (e.g., CRM, ticketing systems, workflow automation tools, internal dashboards).
- Oversee system configuration, enhancements, releases, and lifecycle management.
- Drive tool integrations and API-based automation to reduce manual processes and improve data flow.
- Utilize Jira (or equivalent) to manage technical requests, backlog prioritization, and sprint alignment.
- Monitor system performance, uptime, data integrity, and compliance with governance standards.
- Ensure proper documentation of system architecture, workflows, integrations, and operational dependencies.
- Maintain accountability for project timelines, technical feasibility, resource allocation, and budget adherence.
- Partner with Security and IT to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and access governance.
Strategic Technical Process Improvement
- Influence technical operations strategy and internal systems roadmap.
- Oversees day to day workflow and provides supervision to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Identify opportunities for automation, system consolidation, and infrastructure optimization.
- Recommend architectural improvements to senior leadership to support long-term scalability.
- Establish measurable KPIs for system performance, operational efficiency, and adoption.
- Drive implementation of dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor technical health and operational metrics.
- Anticipate future technical needs based on product growth, organizational scale, and evolving tool ecosystems.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- 6+ years of experience leading technical operations, systems administration, platform management, or enterprise tooling teams.
- Experience managing internal systems such as CRM, ERP, ticketing platforms, workflow automation tools, and reporting systems.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, APIs, integrations, and automation frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience scaling internal technical environments in a growing organization.
- Experience partnering with Engineering and Product teams on system enhancements.
- Deep expertise in Salesforce, including configuration, reporting, and system optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong working knowledge of relational databases and data querying concepts (e.g., SQL fundamentals).
- Experience with BI/reporting tools and dashboard development.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to system dependencies and data integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to identify technical debt and implement scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- High discretion when managing access controls, permissions, and sensitive system data.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($90,000 -$120,000), with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
