Our operations workforce is the heart and soul of our business. We are currently looking for a Business Intelligence Solutions Lead to join our IT team!

Summary

As a Business Intelligence Solutions Lead, you will be crucial in collecting, processing, designing, analyzing, and visualizing data to provide actionable insights. You will play a vital role in shaping data models and reporting systems to enhance data accessibility and bring innovative methods to optimize Power BI semantic models and reports performance. You will work closely with executive leadership, IT, and other departments to ensure data integrity and optimize data systems and reports delivery models. Your data analysis and Power BI development expertise will drive informed decision-making and enhance business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Collect, clean, interpret, and validate data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the integrity of the data systems and to translate complex data requirements into optimized, scalable dimensional models that support operational and integrated reporting.
  • Present data findings to management and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Create logical and physical data models for enterprise-wide data warehouse initiatives.
  • Leverage and regularly update data modeling tools (Visio, Erwin, etc.) to create efficient and scalable data models.
  • Develop data mapping documents to trace data flows and lineage across systems.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis, answering specific business questions or provide support in solving data pipeline related challenges.
  • Prepare reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Design and maintain data systems and databases, including fixing coding errors and resolving data-related issues.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to make complex data more accessible, understandable, and actionable using Power BI.
  • Provide support to team members and other departments in the use of data analysis tools and methods.
  • Acquire, transform, and model data from various sources to create a unified dataset suitable for analysis.
  • Use Power Query within Power BI Desktop to perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations, clean and shape data, and establish relationships between different data tables.
  • Select appropriate data visualizations such as charts, graphs, maps, and tables to represent insights effectively.
  • Implement features like slicers, filters, bookmarks, and drill-through actions to enhance user interactivity and navigation.
  • Leverage analytical skills to explore data, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and extract actionable insights.
  • Apply statistical functions, advanced calculations, and machine learning algorithms within Power BI to uncover valuable business insights.
  • Publish reports to the Power BI service, manage access permissions, configure data refresh schedules, and set up data-driven alerts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders by sharing reports, dashboards, and datasets via the Power BI service or embedding them into other applications.
  • Engage in custom development activities, such as creating custom visuals, implementing custom data connectors, or developing custom solutions using Power BI Embedded or Power BI APIs to address specific business requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Business Intelligence Lead, with a strong background in data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
  • Strong experience working across cloud environment such as Azure/AWS/GCP and cloud databases such as SQL Server/Snowflake/Google Big Query/RedShift.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools (such as Visio, Erwin) to design efficient, scalable data models.
  • Advanced SQL/PLSQL skills, capable of conducting complex ad hoc analysis and supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Understanding of Spark SQL or Python languages is plus
  • In-depth knowledge of Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service, to create interactive, visually engaging reports and dashboards.
  • Working knowledge on advanced data analysis utilizing Statistics and its methods

Salary is dependent on experience and can shift; however, this is our starting target range.

Targeted Salary Range

$150,000 - $175,000 USD
