Our operations workforce is the heart and soul of our business. We are currently looking for a Data Manager to join our IT team!

Summary

As a Data Manager, you will be responsible for designing data warehousing systems to support reporting, analytics, and business operations. You will work closely with IT and business teams to design and maintain scalable data models, define and enforce data governance standards, and ensure high data quality and accessibility across the organization. This role involves hands-on work in data architecture, dimensional modeling, metadata management, and supporting the development of enterprise data assets. You will also collaborate with the data engineering team to support data pipeline design and optimization, and work with BI Product leads to enable efficient reporting through tools like Power BI. Your expertise in SQL, data modeling, Azure Data Factory, and data governance will be critical in building a strong data foundation that supports business intelligence and future advanced analytics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT leadership to prioritize data and reporting needs.
  • Translate complex data requirements into scalable and optimized data solutions.
  • Design and maintain scalable dimensional models (logical and physical) by collaborating with business users, analysts, and technical teams to support enterprise-wide reporting and analytics.
  • Use modeling tools like Visio or Erwin to create efficient, scalable data models.
  • Develop and maintain data mapping and data lineage documentation.
  • Update data models to reflect changing business needs and new data sources.
  • Leverage SQL/PLSQL experience to conduct ad hoc analysis, answering specific business questions or provide support in solving data pipeline related challenges.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies to enhance statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Design and maintain data systems and databases, including fixing coding errors and resolving data-related issues.
  • Design interactive Power BI dashboards using appropriate visualizations (charts, maps, tables) with features like slicers, filters, bookmarks, and drill-through actions to enhance accessibility and interactivity.
  • Provide support to team members and other departments in the use of data analysis tools and methods.
  • Acquire and transform data from various sources using ADF or Power Query in Power BI Desktop to create unified datasets and define relationships across tables for reporting.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies; prepare executive-level reports that deliver actionable insights and predictions.
  • Apply statistical functions, advanced calculations, and machine learning algorithms within Power BI to uncover valuable business insights.
  • Publish reports to the Power BI service, manage access permissions, configure data refresh schedules, and set up data-driven alerts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders by sharing reports, dashboards, and datasets via the Power BI service or embedding them into other applications.
  • Engage in custom development activities, such as creating custom visuals, implementing custom data connectors, or developing custom solutions using Power BI Embedded or Power BI APIs to address specific business requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture and BI development, with a strong background in data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Familiarity with cloud databases including SQL Server/Serverless SQL, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Redshift. Azure experience is preferred.
  • Experience in project implementations leveraging Azure ADFS is a plus.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end data warehouse implementations, including data modeling, ETL, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools such as Visio or Erwin to design efficient, scalable data models.
  • Advanced SQL/PLSQL skills, with the ability to conduct complex ad hoc analysis and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Familiarity with Spark SQL or Python is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service, to build and publish interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Working knowledge on advanced data analysis utilizing Statistics and its methods

Targeted Salary Range

$150,000 - $175,000 USD
