Sanitation Manager IC - Factor Europe (f/m/d/x)
The role
Factor_ a brand of HelloFresh is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sanitation Sr. Manager to develop and oversee sanitation operations in our facility. This role requires leadership to ensure all hygiene and safety protocols are met. The Sr. Manager will set up operations, coordinate activities, lead and provide coaching and guidance to the sanitation team. The Sr. Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to the company’s food safety culture, fostering a safe work environment, and making sure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hygiene procedures are strictly followed.

What you’ll do
- Support the design, implementation & improvement our sanitation plan and Standard Operating Procedures in our new production facility
- Oversee the verification and validation of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures to ensure proper pathogen control as well as allergen management
- Direct and manage employees involved in inspection and sanitation procedures with regard to sanitation of the plant
- Plan and assign work of reporting associates and leads, ensuring proper sanitation is performed and effective allocation of resources.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and adapt inspection equipment and sanitation procedures to meet sanitation control standards, make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product safety
- Collaborate closely with the Maintenance and Production teams to ensure sanitation activities are scheduled effectively and do not interfere with production operations, while also ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned and maintained for food safety compliance.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality Sr. Manager. Amongst others, especially on the development and execution of the Environmental Monitoring Plan and associated liaison with third-party laboratories.
- Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices
- Lead the compilation, review, and maintenance of comprehensive inspection reports inspection reports and records
- Perform Root Cause Analyses, investigate and determine the cause of faulty work and consult and advise other departments as to corrective measures
- Ensure that all employees are equipped with the necessary tools, training, and development opportunities to perform their roles effectively.
- Actively participate in recruitment efforts by recommending hiring, promotions, wage adjustments, and terminations as necessary.
- Escalate food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate action
- Champion a culture of safety, food safety, and quality across the organization, ensuring alignment with company values and goals
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of experience in industrial kitchen or production operations centre, ideally in a Food Safety role in a Food Manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is required, proven track record of leadership in sanitation is preferred.
- A structured approach to work, detail orientation and you take pride in what you do
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Germanis a must.
- Knowledge of Food safety GFSI certifications such as SQF, BRC and HACCP
- Intermediate computer skills requirement – data analysis/creation, Google Sheets and equivalent
