Director of Content Design & Localization (f/m/x)

About the role 

HelloFresh is on a mission to change the way people eat, forever. We are seeking a Director of Content Design & Localization to lead the creation and delivery of world-class, cohesive content experiences across our global platforms. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a talented team of 4 UX Writers and 2 Localization Program Managers and oversee both product and marketing content localization for our 8 brands.

Reporting to the Senior Director of UX Design, you’ll partner closely with Product, Marketing, and Brand teams to elevate content quality, consistency, and localization at scale. You will define and implement a unified content strategy, drive innovation in UX writing, and build scalable localization operations to deliver seamless experiences in every market we serve.

What you'll do

Leadership & Team Management

  • Directly lead, mentor, and grow a team of UX Writers and Localization Program Managers.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on quality and scalability.

Content Strategy

  • Define and execute a content strategy for our 8 global brands that aligns with HelloFresh’s business goals and customer needs.
  • Partner with Product and Design teams to embed content design principles into the product development lifecycle.

Localization Excellence

  • Scale localization operations to support product and marketing copy in multiple languages and regions.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure high-quality localized content that resonates with local audiences.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with UX Design and Research to leverage content as a driver for user centricity experience quality.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Marketing teams to ensure consistency and quality across all touchpoints.
  • Partner with Engineering to streamline localization workflows and tools for efficiency.

Content Innovation

  • Lead the team in creating innovative content solutions that enhance usability and user engagement.
  • Establish and maintain content guidelines and standards to ensure a cohesive voice and tone across all channels.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience: 8+ years in content design, UX writing, and localization, with at least 4 years in a leadership role managing teams.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Content Design Expertise: Strong knowledge of content design best practices, including user-centered design principles, content strategy development, and the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging copy tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Localization Expertise: Deep understanding of localization workflows, tools, and strategies for scaling content across multiple regions and languages.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that drives business outcomes and user satisfaction.
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with experience interfacing closely with marketing, brand, and engineering teams.
  • Innovation Mindset: Passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation in content quality and design.
