Technical Project Manager
540 is looking for a Technical Project Manager to help lead a rapid software prototype delivery build for the Federal Government. We are looking for a startup-minded individual with strong technical acumen to work in partnership with our Technical Lead closely on an Agile Scrum team. In this project, you will be supporting the modernization of a critical data communications platform.
At 540, our PMs are called Project Anchors. They have overall accountability of the project’s success as established at the outset of the project. You’ll be planning, leading, organizing and a culture of high performance, superior quality, and determined focus on client success. You’ll work closely with the Technical Lead and Product Owner to develop the project and product roadmap and ensure that what’s needed is what’s built. You’ll be interacting with internal and external stakeholders, data owners, technical developers and business analysts, as needed, so strong technical and business communication is key.
Location: Arlington, VA preferred, with considerable remote work (occasional onsite meetings)
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: Per client requirements, candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a federal government security clearance
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of Federal IT Project Management-related experience
- Strong client resolution skills
- Very strong communication skills, both spoken and written
- Must have strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
- Ability to think outside the box... and on your feet
- Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities, last minute changes
- Identify/assess/proactively address potential project risks and mitigation strategies
- Experience managing agile projects using PMI methods
- Experience with Microsoft project or similar software
- Experience in working with technical leads to translate business requirements into innovative and inspiring solutions
- Ability to give presentations and briefings to clients and stakeholder user groups at all levels of leadership
- Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the business needs in order to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
- Google Suite experience
- PMP Certification
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Familiarization with Atlassian's Suite, such as Jira (or equivalent) for use in Agile issue management, backlogs, and team metrics/reporting
- Experience delivering software for Federal agencies (specifically DoD) and the Security, Accessibility, and Technical policies that apply
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Scaled Agilist (SA) Certification
- Leading an API-first/data driven program
