What You’ll Be Doing

We’re looking for an exceptional Product Manager to shape the future of Patriot’s Payments & Risk products by improving payment flows, reducing fraud, and strengthening compliance. You’ll operate at the intersection of systems, data, and customer experience, collaborating with engineering, design, and operations to build backend improvements, internal tools, and customer-facing features. While you don’t need coding experience, you should understand how systems connect, how data moves, and how risk and compliance shape product decisions.

What You’ll Focus On

You’ll build deep expertise across six areas that shape Patriot’s Payments & Risk strategy, blending customer insight, data, operational awareness, and industry knowledge while partnering with cross-functional teams.

1. Partnering with Development & Design

Define upcoming work, collaborate on solutions that balance customer experience, compliance, and operations, and clearly communicate the “why.” Identify scalable improvements that reduce payment issues, fraud risks, and compliance gaps.

2. Customer Insight

Engage with customers and internal teams to understand how payment timing, reliability, and risk decisions affect their experience. Surface pain points, like funding delays or risk reviews, and translate them into meaningful product improvements.

3. Data-Driven Decisions

Analyze payment performance, fraud patterns, identity workflows, and risk thresholds. Use queries or dashboards to investigate anomalies, validate assumptions, and measure the impact of risk-mitigation strategies. Track metrics tied to customer outcomes and operational efficiency.

4. Business & Risk Expertise

Learn Patriot’s risk posture, financial operations, fraud processes, KYC, and BSA/AML requirements. Partner with Finance, Compliance, Legal, and Risk to ensure product decisions are accurate, compliant, and operationally sound.

5. Industry Awareness

Stay current on payment technologies, fraud trends, regulatory changes, and settlement expectations. Use industry insights to guide product direction and maintain trust and reliability.

6. AI Mindset

Use AI to accelerate research, analysis, planning, and drafting, and help identify high-value opportunities for AI-driven improvements in payments, fraud detection, and operations.

Please note this is a sample of what you’ll be doing. This job requires you to be able to adapt to change quickly in order to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Your duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

What You’ll Need

Experience

  • 5+ years in a SaaS Product Manager role
  • Background with complex systems, financial workflows, risk operations, or compliance in payments/fintech
  • 2+ years of experience with payment rails (e.g., ACH, direct deposit, or instant payments) and an understanding of how their capabilities and constraints impact customer experience and risk
  • Proven record of launching successful products or platforms with iterative, metrics-driven improvements
  • Familiarity with KYC, BSA/AML, fraud detection, or identity verification (conceptual knowledge is fine)
  • Experience collaborating with development, design, QA, and operations teams, with working knowledge of agile SDLC and release management

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Ability to discuss system behavior, data flows, and risk implications with engineers and operational teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions
  • Able to distinguish between reversible decisions and long-term strategic choices

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent writing and communication skills; able to translate complex information clearly for diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills: empathetic, collaborative, and able to build trust across cross-functional teams
  • Open-minded, humble, and a team player

Operational Needs

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection
  • Dedicated, quiet workspace free from distractions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Full-time, direct-hire, 100% remote role
  • Open to candidates residing in and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Not open to applicants residing in: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Washington D.C.
  • Core hours: 9am–5pm EST, Monday–Friday
