Summary:

  • Job Title: Senior Accountant
  • Job Status: Full Time 
  • Location: This role requires in-office work in Canton, OH, for the first 90 days, then transitions to a hybrid schedule.
  • Compensation: Salaried (Exempt)
  • Position Type: Direct Hire, note, this is not a contract role
  • Pay Range: $72K - $82K based on experience
  • Shift: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm ET

What You’ll Be Doing: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the Head of Finance and the broader finance and accounting team. This role will own Accounts Payable and Bank Reconciliations, with a focus on improving efficiency and driving automation, and will support the month-end close process through journal entries and accruals.

This is a collaborative role within a high-growth SaaS company, ideal for a technologically savvy accountant who enjoys streamlining processes and strengthening operational workflows. You’ll take ownership of key accounting cycles while cross-training to serve as a backup for stock administration, payroll, and benefits, and will report directly to the Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Operations, Accounts Payable & Automation (Primary Ownership)

  • Accounts Payable Automation: Own the full-cycle AP process. actively identifying and implementing opportunities to automate invoice capture, coding, and approval workflows to reduce manual effort.
  • Invoice Management: Review and verify invoices for accuracy, ensure proper GL coding, secure necessary approvals, and process weekly payments.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate current accounting procedures (especially in AP and expense management) and recommend technology-driven solutions to increase speed and accuracy.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple entities and across various banking partners.
  • Corporate Spend: Manage and reconcile corporate credit card transactions, ensuring receipts are captured and expenses are categorized correctly.

Month-End Close Support (Collaborative)

  • General Ledger: Support the month-end close process by preparing and recording standard journal entries.
  • Accruals: Prepare and record monthly operational accruals, including legal fees, software subscriptions, and other recurring expenses.
  • Debt & Interest: Assist in maintaining debt schedules and recording interest accruals for company notes and intercompany loans.
  • Balance Sheet Recs: Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance.

Cross-Functional Support & Backup Duties

  • Stock Options (Backup): Learn the platform to serve as a backup administrator for the Stock Option Plan (SOP), assisting with valuation updates and entries when necessary.
  • Payroll & Benefits (Backup): Cross-train on payroll processing and benefits administration to provide coverage during leaves of absence or high-volume periods.
  • Audit Support: Assist with gathering documentation and schedules for annual audits and tax filings.

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience (mix of public/private preferred). 
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP is preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets. Experience with modern fintech stacks and automation tools is a strong plus.
  • A continuous improvement mindset; you are always looking for a better, faster way to complete a task.
  • High level of attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines, and strong communication skills.

  • Open to candidates residing in and legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Core hours: 8 am–5 pm EST, Monday–Friday
  • Some flexibility is required during busy seasons or critical “right-now” moments
