Product Manager (G1)

SUMMARY:
You are a product leader who is accountable for the business outcome of your product(s). You ensure that the teams focus on outcome over output - the customer and revenue, and not the number of features built. You lead the product vision and you are the connective tissue between business, clients, stakeholders and product teams.
Clear view of how the product maps to outcomes: Revenue, established KPIs, learnings from customers, value to the organization (Kroger & 84.51°).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributes to product portfolio strategy that balances business need, opportunity, feasibility, and achievability.
- Makes data-driven decisions to support product team choices with evidence from analytics and research.
- Reframes business needs into actual business solutions.
- Creates and ensures a shared understanding of product vision and strategy, across business, clients, stakeholders, and product teams.
- Drive business value for the team by prioritizing and ordering product backlog items based on the product roadmap
- Effective management of the team’s product backlog and ensuring it’s transparent, visible and clearly communicated
- Translates business desires/requirements into effective features and stories that are ready for development
- Outlines clear acceptance criteria, to clearly communicate the definition of “done”
- Stakeholder management – effective in building and managing stakeholder relationships to influence and drive change
- Intermediate level knowledge in the development and use of product data to influence product decisions/roadmap – both quantitative and qualitative
- Develop good understanding of the business domain, stakeholders, business processes and constraints in which your product(s) play
- Develop understanding of customers/users problems, how they think and operate and the platforms/technology they use
- Understand and communicate organization objectives, strategies and solution needs to the team to facilitate results (where collaborative/as colleague)
- Manage and communicate dependencies and risks
Accountabilities
- Owns understanding the value creation for product and contributing to the same
- Owns the product enhancement and high-level roadmap
- Owns business value prioritization criteria and framework
- Aggregates business needs into platform capabilities
- Defines and consumes success metrics
Technical Collaboration
- Demonstrates product thinking by abstracting feature requests into “classes of problems”.
- Understands the technical aspects enough to ensure that technical choices don’t conflict with the product vision.
- Creates an extensible product which can be used for a variety of current and future needs.
- Partners with Engineering and Architecture leads so that decisions on product and technology direction are not made in a vacuum.
Research & Competitive Intelligence
- Drives research to identify ways to transform the user experience and create competitive opportunities
- Always “discovering” what customers and users need.
- Gets out of the building - visit clients and speak with users/customers to build expertise in how the product is used and emerging user needs.
Communication
- Communicates the value proposition and brings an emotional connection to the product to all stakeholders and team.
- Nurtures communication with stakeholders to ensure that product strategy stays aligned with business priorities.
- Ensures value stream messaging is delivered down to the product team level.
- Keeps stakeholders abreast of learnings from customers that impact product direction.
- Articulates how the product fulfills the business strategy and creates value to internal and external stakeholders.
Partners
- Product managers, to ensure constant alignment with business, customer goals and outcome expectation.
- Engineering and Architecture so that decisions on product and technology are not made in a vacuum.
- The ecosystem in which your product(s) exists. This includes business, users, data, analysis, SMEs, stakeholders and executives across Kroger & 84.51°
- Experience Design (XD), to share, understand, and collaborate on research learnings.
Clients
- Business stakeholders and function leads and in turn, their clients, the end users.

- Executing product design, hypothesis-driven experimentation, and iterative customer research, where the value of the work was clearly articulated as business outcomes and as learning opportunities.
- Navigating and shepherding stakeholder groups to align on business vision and priorities, and managing the value stream and messaging down to the delivery team level.
- Developing strategies gaining knowledge of, and creating empathy for, key customer/user problem space and their needs, including planning primary research goals that align to business objectives.

Pay Transparency and Benefits
- The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest. Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.

Pay Range
$50,000 - $136,250 USD
