Franchise Merchandise Consultant

A24 is seeking a Franchise Merchandise Consultant to lead cross-functional efforts for one of our most popular adult animated television series. The ideal candidate has experience ideating, designing, and creating merchandise, has a deep understanding of fandom and brand management, and is a planner, an executor, and a stellar collaborator. 

We are seeking a candidate who can work from A24’s Los Angeles or New York location. This is a 6-month engagement with the possibility to extend. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • First and foremost, this person will be focused on planning for, project managing, and producing merchandise / consumer products 
  • Organize and execute against a comprehensive, multi-year franchise strategy, focusing on fan engagement and monetization for our IP (across merchandise, music, live events, & more) to drive revenue
  • Own the full lifecycle of merchandise production, from ideation and vendor coordination to product design, marketing, and distribution, ensuring that all fan-facing products reflect the IP’s creative vision and quality
  • Serve as the central point of contact around the IP internally, managing collaboration between internal teams (marketing, production, operations) and external partners (creators, networks, vendors) to ensure alignment on franchise goals
  • Always have a finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the fan community 
  • Understand corporate and franchise goals at the highest level, translate them down into a multi-year action plan
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and fandom behavior to evolve franchise strategies and seize new opportunities for growth
  • Work alongside executives to identify future opportunities for IP franchise development, leveraging the playbook built around our first venture

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in franchise management, merchandise production, brand management, or related fields, with a deep understanding of fan-first communities 
  • Ideally plugged into animation / online creator world, with ability to connect with fans and artists of all kinds
  • Demonstrated success in managing consumer product development, particularly in merchandise, with a focus on quality, branding, and fan appeal
  • Proven ability to navigate cross-functional projects, balancing high-level strategy with day-to-day execution.
  • Experience engaging and managing passionate fan communities, understanding how to find the right balance between fan service and monetization effort
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with collaborators at all levels

This is a temporary, 1099 position, working at least 40 hours per week. Our target monthly pay for this position is between $7,000 and $10,000. Actual starting salary within the range will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, and training.
