Database Administrator - SQL Server -Azure and Powershell Automation

In this role, you’ll play a central part in ensuring our cloud database infrastructure is robust, compliant, and highly available. You’ll partner cross-functionally with CloudOps, DevOps, and SRE teams to maximize uptime, optimize performance, and automate operational workflows. Your work will shape our ability to deliver solutions at scale while upholding the highest standards of security and compliance (FedRAMP High, IL5). What you’ll do

  • Administer, monitor, and support SQL Server databases on Azure (SQL DB, Managed Instance, SQL on VMs)
  • Manage backup/recovery, patching, and high availability (AlwaysOn, Geo-replication, Log Shipping)
  • Tune SQL queries, improve indexing and analyze wait stats, leveraging Redgate, new relic and related tools
  • Implementing data encryption  , managing user access/passwords and ensuring compliance with security standards
  • Executing, migrating on-premise databases to cloud systems or between  cloud providers
  • Integrate and optimize observability tools such as New Relic APM, RedGate Monitor, and SQL Monitor for real-time diagnostics and alerting
  • Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and other scripting tools; contribute to DevOps pipelines
  • Collaborate with Product Support, DevOps, and SRE teams around release management, deployment automation, and IaC
  • Ensure cost-effective cloud resource utilization through tagging, right-sizing, and scheduled scaling
  • Maintain secure access controls and auditing as per FedRAMP High and IL5; support audits and compliance
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for incident response and resolution

What you will bring

  • 4-6 years’ hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA, including at least 2 years working in Azure cloud
  • Solid expertise with SQL Server 2016+ (installation, tuning, HA/DR, maintenance)
  • Proven experience with cloud monitoring & troubleshooting tools: New Relic (DB Insights & APM),  RedGate
  • Expertise in Sql reporting server installation and setup.
  • Strong automation skills using PowerShell, T-SQL, and (optionally) Azure/AWS CLI
  • Experience in regulated/cloud environments (FedRAMP, IL5, HIPAA, etc.) and cost optimization
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; proven collaborator across functions
  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis)

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, 
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP High/IL5 operational standards

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - Working hours: 5 pm to 3 am IST OR
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - Working hours: 2 am to 12 noon IST OR
Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - Working hours: 5 pm to 3 am IST OR
Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - Working hours: 2 am to 12 noon 
Its a 10 hour and 4-day shift
