
Social Recreation Coordinator
AbilityPath is hiring a Social Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team!
The Coordinator provides mentorship, supervision, training, and curriculum development for instructors, interns and volunteers. The Supervisor is also responsible for the service coordination of participants in the program through Person Centered Planning practices.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Program Development & Coordination
• Support the development and implementation of inclusive social and recreational programming
• Oversee activity planning, including daily schedules and monthly calendars
• Ensure programming aligns with participant goals through Person-Centered Planning practices
Staff Supervision & Training
• Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate instructors and/or recreation interns
• Provide mentorship and ongoing support to staff, interns, and volunteers
Participant Support & Engagement
• Facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote socialization and skill-building
• Utilize behavior modification techniques to support engagement and individualized behavior plans
• Supervise and assist participants during community outings and on-site activities
• Ensure participant safety and well-being, including transporting participants as needed
Administrative & Case Management
• Maintain accurate records, including participant progress notes, evaluations, and billing documentation
• Provide case management support and participate in annual meetings and goal planning
Communication & Compliance
• Maintain effective communication and act as a liaison between participants, families, and service providers
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment following established safety practices
• Report participant or program concerns to the program manager or director
• Perform other duties as required
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

- A. in relevant field
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist 2+ year licensed
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of a Valid California Driver’s License/ID
- 3 years of a Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Verification of physical clearance
- Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 21 years of age for driving positions
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
