
Job Readiness (Immersion) Instructor
AbilityPath is looking for Immersion Instructor to join our team!
The The Immersion Instructor provides engaging, community-based instruction in support of high-quality participant services.
Compensation: $25-$26/hr
Hours: 40/week Full Time with Benefits

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to participants to help them achieve their goals; instruction may be community based, on-site or provided virtually.
- Utilize appropriate modification techniques to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagement
- Oversee case management and all related documentation and reports
- Supervise and assist participants during volunteer activities, paid work, classes, and other community activities
- Participate in agency functions and attend case management meetings
- Maintain professional relationships and provide excellent customer service with external parties, families, care givers, and participants
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:
- Ability to provide engaging instruction to participants with various developmental levels, skill sets, and behaviors
- Ability to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagement
- Ability to work effectively on teams, including cross-departmental teams
- Knowledge of standard computer systems including Outlook and Word
- Ability to work with detailed and confidential information
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with parents, caregivers, team, and external partners
- Demonstrate a positive outlook and ability to adapt to change
- Passion for the mission, by believing in the abilities of people with disabilities
- Awareness of, sensitivity to, and competence in supporting people with developmental disabilities
education and work experience:
Any combination of education or work experience that meets job expectations; including but not limited to:
- Education Degree in applicable field
- Specialized certificate
- Applicable work or volunteer experience
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of a Valid California Driver’s License/ID
- 3 years of a Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Verification of physical clearance
- Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 21 years of age for driving positions
- 18 years of age or older
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Accommodations made upon request to Human Resources:
- Ability to physically respond to adults with developmental disabilities
- Ability to lift/support at least 40 lbs as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time and support adults with developmental disabilities on community outings
- Ability to drive company vehicles to transport participants
- Ability to sit and keyboard as needed
