We're looking for compassionate, energetic, and community-minded Independent Living Skills Specialists to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build life skills, achieve personal goals, and thrive in their communities.
Whether you're helping someone learn to navigate public transportation, prepare a meal, build friendships, explore employment, or achieve greater independence, every day is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
What You'll Do
As an Independent Living Skills Specialist, you'll work one-on-one with adults in their homes and throughout the community to help them reach their goals and live as independently as possible.
You'll:

Coach and teach independent living skills based on each person's unique goals and strengths.

Partner with individuals to develop personalized, person-centered plans that promote growth and independence.

Support healthy living through nutrition, wellness, exercise, and daily routines.

Encourage participation in community activities, recreation, volunteering, and relationship building.

Assist individuals in exploring employment interests and developing workplace readiness skills.

Collaborate with families, support teams, and community partners to provide coordinated services.

Track progress, document outcomes, and celebrate achievements along the way.

One or more years of work or volunteer experience supporting adults with disabilities

Experience working in professional or community-based settings

Associate degree (completed or in progress)

Hiring Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing:

Valid California Driver's License (or California ID where applicable)

Must be at least 18 years old (or possess appropriate work authorization if applicable)
Physical Requirements
This position is active and community-based. Team members should be able to:

Drive and transport adults served safely throughout the community

Participate in community, recreational, vocational, and household activities

Lift up to 25 pounds as needed

Perform physical activities throughout the workday
