Data Analyst (Power BI Back-End)

The DTC Analytics team at AB InBev is seeking a Data Analyst with a strong focus on Power BI back-end to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, refining, and maintaining high-quality datasets to support key stakeholders in tracking and analyzing KPIs for our product and customer experience initiatives.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into robust, scalable, and efficient Power BI datasets that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
You will play a crucial role in organizing, governing, and optimizing the datasets that feed our dashboards and analyses, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and performance. Your attention to detail and expertise in data modeling will support the delivery of insightful KPIs to stakeholders across the business.
As part of the product and customer experience team, you will be at the forefront of structuring and maintaining the data foundation that powers the daily and monthly tracking of KPIs. Your work will contribute directly to the success of our direct-to-consumer organization, specifically focusing on our on-demand beer delivery services, Tada. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data, product, and engineering, will be essential in delivering datasets that drive impactful business insights.

What you'll do:

 

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Power BI datasets and best practices in data modeling (star schema, aggregations, performance optimization).
  • Create, manage, and refine datasets in Power BI, ensuring consistency, scalability, and governance aligned with business requirements.
  • Leverage your knowledge of SQL and Power Query (M) to prepare and transform data from multiple sources into usable datasets for reporting.
  • Implement and manage RLS (Row-Level Security) and data governance policies within Power BI datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into scalable data models.
  • Optimize existing datasets and DAX measures to improve performance and user experience across dashboards.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of data and KPIs, applying business rules and validations.
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of datasets in the Power BI Service, ensuring reliable and timely data refreshes.

 

What you'll need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, economics, or a related data field.
  • Solid experience in analytics with a focus on Power BI datasets, data modeling, and back-end data preparation.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with DAX and Power Query (M).
  • Experience with best practices in data modeling for Power BI (star schema, handling large datasets, and performance optimization).
  • Understanding of data governance and security practices in Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Passion for leveraging data to drive strategic decisions and a strong understanding of business needs.
  • Advanced communication skills in English (written and spoken);
