Senior Project Engineer - Commercial Construction
As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll play a key leadership role in supporting field and office operations by partnering closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent. You’ll take ownership of complex scopes, lead technical coordination, and help guide Project Engineers and interns. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, mentoring others, and taking pride in delivering high-quality work.

Compensation Package Details
In addition to the 401(k), ESOP, medical, PTO, and base pay, the compensation package also includes:
Cell Phone Allowance: $80.13 per month
Commute Allowance: $300 per month

What You’ll Do
Coordinate and lead technical and administrative project functions from start-up through closeout
Manage complex building systems coordination, including submittals, RFIs, clash detection, and design reviews
Support bid package development, schedule management, change management, and cost reporting
Oversee subcontractor compliance, documentation, and quality control processes
Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents on project planning and execution
Maintain strong communication with owners, design teams, and trade partners
Lead jobsite engineering activities and participate in project meetings
Track budgets, costs, and forecasting to support financial performance
Coach, mentor, and support Project Engineers and interns
Promote and model strong safety practices and support Absher’s safety culture
Ensure project documentation and closeout materials are accurate and complete

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of relevant construction experience
Strong understanding of construction means and methods
Proficiency with project management and construction software platforms
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and submittals
Experience coordinating complex building systems
Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staff
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through
Dependable, professional, and comfortable handling confidential information
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work is primarily based in a jobsite trailer with frequent visits to active construction areas. The role requires regular movement throughout the site, use of standard PPE, and the ability to work in varying weather and site conditions. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required, with heavier lifting supported as needed.

Superintendent - Commercial Construction
At Absher, our Superintendents lead the work where it matters most, in the field. This role is responsible for managing day to day construction operations on complex commercial projects and ensuring work is completed safely, with quality, and on schedule.
You will serve as the on-site leader coordinating field teams, trade partners, and project staff to keep work moving efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with owners, designers, and inspectors. The right person for this role brings strong field leadership, sound judgment, and pride in building projects the right way.
What You’ll Do
Lead on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
Supervise, train, and mentor field staff, craft labor, and subcontractors
Set clear expectations around safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism on site
Ensure work is performed safely and in alignment with contract requirements and project plans
Partner closely with Project Managers, owners, inspectors, and design teams to maintain strong communication
Develop and manage CPM schedules, pull plans, and detailed look-ahead schedules
Coordinate inspections, testing, documentation, and daily reporting
Monitor labor productivity and material usage to support project financial goals
Identify and resolve field issues quickly to protect schedule, quality, and team performance
Participate in preconstruction planning including constructability reviews and sequencing strategies

8+ years of construction experience with significant time spent in a Superintendent or field leadership role
Proven experience leading ground-up commercial construction projects
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling (to include master schedules), and trade coordination
Demonstrated commitment to safety, mentorship, and building strong field teams
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Procore and Primavera P6 preferred
OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain
Junior college, vocational education, or technical training in construction a plus
