Position Overview

The Senior EHR Analyst is an experienced healthcare IT professional responsible for the support, optimization, administration, and ongoing improvement of Accanto’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This role provides advanced application ownership for assigned EHR modules, workflows, integrations, upgrades, releases, and issue resolution while serving as a technical subject matter expert and escalation point for EHR Analysts, end users, operational leaders, and vendor partners.

The Senior EHR Analyst partners closely with clinical, operational, training, technical, and vendor teams to translate business needs into clear requirements, reliable workflows, effective documentation, and well-tested system changes. The role requires strong EHR expertise, knowledge of behavioral health and clinical workflows, technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Salary Range: $70,000- $85,000 commensurate with experience

Schedule: 8am-5pm

How Senior EHR Analysts Empower Recovery

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for assigned EHR modules, workflows, integrations, and related applications.
  • Provide Tier 3 support and escalation for production issues, EHR corrections, complex troubleshooting, and questions escalated by EHR Analysts or end users.
  • Monitor system activity, identify issues or trends, resolve problems, and escalate risks, defects, or service concerns to management or vendors as appropriate.
  • Lead and participate in functional design sessions, workflow reviews, and multidisciplinary workgroups to support standardized, streamlined clinical and operational processes.
  • Partner with business owners, clinical leaders, IT Support, Training, vendors, and operational stakeholders to define requirements, clarify use cases, document workflows, and support effective system use.
  • Manage enhancement requests, configuration changes, and bug fixes by confirming requirements, documenting decisions, coordinating approvals, tracking changes, and ensuring readiness for production release.
  • Plan, coordinate, and validate testing for new design/build, upgrades, patches, enhancements, fixes, integrations, and cross-system workflows, including test plans, user acceptance testing, release readiness, and implementation support.
  • Coordinate vendor activities related to releases, patches, issue resolution, service levels, ticket follow-up, and escalation of risks or delays.
  • Create and maintain accurate system documentation, knowledge base articles, runbooks, user guides, tip sheets, training materials, technical documentation, interface details, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Support access reviews, role/group accuracy, least-privilege permissions, license management, audit requests, privacy controls, and employee termination reviews for assigned systems.
  • Collect and evaluate application KPIs, system usage, support trends, customer satisfaction, and vendor SLA performance to identify opportunities for reliability, adoption, and process improvement.
  • Mentor EHR Analysts by providing guidance, knowledge sharing, troubleshooting support, and direction on testing, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain clear records of inquiries, decisions, changes, testing outcomes, support activity, and project/task status to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Communicate outages, releases, patch impacts, testing timelines, change readiness, risks, and task/project status to end users, stakeholders, vendors, and leadership in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related degree.

 

Professional Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience supporting Avatar or another EHR system required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience with EHR administration, configuration, application support, systems analysis, IT service management, quality assurance, business analysis, or project coordination required.Mini
  • Knowledge of behavioral health, mental health, clinical, revenue cycle, medical billing, or office operations workflows preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data, EHR configuration, clinical content, and the relationship between system design and operational workflow.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical and workflow issues, interpret clinical and technical requirements, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of system integrations and interfaces, such as APIs, web services, SFTP/file feeds, middleware concepts, and cross-system testing.
  • Minimum of five years of experience creating test plans, coordinating user acceptance testing, validating fixes or enhancements, and maintaining clear tickets, runbooks, knowledge articles, and user-facing documentation.

Workplace Environment: 

  • Sitting 70-75% and Standing 25-30%.
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping or crouching when appropriate, on occasion.
  • Lift, carry, push or pull up to approx. 30 pounds (supplies, etc.)
