Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE

Accela is seeking a Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a positive attitude, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines. This role requires the ability to think quickly and adapt to changing circumstances.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and process vendor invoices, including standalone invoices, invoices against purchase orders, and credit memos.
  • Manage vendor onboarding process, verification, and maintenance.
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals on invoices and purchase orders.
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with the processing of invoices and purchase orders.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Prepare batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
  • Distribute credit card statements, collect receipts, and reconcile transactions.
  • Assist with refund payments.
  • Assist with employee expense reimbursement.
  • Provide support to external and internal business partners via phone, email, or chat.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents.
  • Assist with monthly status reports and monthly closings.
  • Assist in various compliance reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • 4+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
  • Experience with medium or large ERP systems. NetSuite experience is desired, including experience in AP and Purchase Order modules.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel (basic formulas), Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong work ethic: consistently meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • A "customer service" attitude when working with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and must be detail-oriented.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-entity and multi-currency experience is a plus.
  • Work experience with a US company and multi-entity company is preferred.
  • Experience with Concur is a plus.
