
Product Manager
ABOUT THE ROLE
Outbound Product Management serves as the voice of the customer within Accela. An outbound product manager focuses on the external aspects of a product’s lifecycle, including marketing, sales enablement, customer feedback, and go-to-market strategies. They ensure that the product reaches the target audience effectively and aligns with market demands and trends. They collaborate across teams. We win or lose as a team. Product Managers play a critical role in creating alignment between engineering teams and stakeholders. Understanding and managing all internal stakeholders’ needs and expectations. A collaborative attitude is essential to the job.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with customers, partners and key stakeholders to define business use cases.
· Be able to communicate business value and understand the technical rationale behind product decisions.
· Define strategies for implementation pricing and revenue opportunities.
· Define and validate the product strategy for Accela’s products.
· Responsible for validating that the released features from the inbound team meet the product strategy and business goals.
· Responsible for evangelizing Accela’s strategy and bringing back ideas for roadmap discussions.
· Evangelize solutions and implementation best practices within Accela, partner and customer community to expand usage of the platform.
· Be the voice of the market for others in the company through your continuous interactions with customers, prospects, and partners.
· Responsible for learning the details of upcoming releases to assure smooth adoption of new product features.
· Provide education, context and train the sales field on new product initiatives.
· Be the voice of the customer when collaborating with the inbound product manager on development decisions.
· Collaborate with Product Marketing to produce go-to-market materials.
· Engage with customers directly to lead adoption, referenceability and documentation of success stories on leveraging Accela’s products.
· Evaluate segment, market and opportunities with Sales teams to drive product usability on released product.
· Responsible for maintaining a firm grasp of the competitive landscape and identifying areas of differentiation in collaboration with the inbound product manager.
· Responsible for collaborating with Product Marketing to define the product positioning to support the other cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, PS, Customer Care).
· Collaborate with the inbound product manager and Executive Leadership to define the success criteria; and validate that the goals were achieved.
· Build KPIs to track performance and usage of the products to enable us to identify opportunities to enhance or end of life the product(s).
· Accountable for the experimentation lifecycle to identify and validate the viability of product initiatives.
· Responsible for speaking and presenting proficiently about Accessibility including the ADA laws and how the impact our products and customers, and the relationships between those laws and the WCAG. (Not responsible for the specifics of features or functionality IN the product).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous experience in process automation-oriented enterprise software, low-code configuration tools
· Technical expertise in SaaS application architecture
· History of using customer and market research to drive decision making
· Able to bring order to complex systems by identifying patterns in customer usage
· Proven track record of delivering successful enterprise software or SaaS products
· Proven stakeholder management skills working with a cross-functional team to influence and lead across all parts of a geographically distributed organization
· Proven experience working in a product driven company building a successful solution
· Previous experience presenting product vision, business results and driving collaborative discussion among large teams, to business stakeholders and executives
· Experience as a product owner in an agile environment
· Have led a migration of legacy products and feature sets to newer products/technology
· Experience identifying and addressing customer needs, building relationships with customers, and communicating with customers in a clear and knowledgeable manner
· Strong organizational and analytical skills with a track record of measuring and reporting key performance indicators including revenue, market adoption, margin and up-sell/cross sell
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience with Accessibility conformance, using Accessibility tools like AXE, JAWS, Total Validator; Have taken any general or specific training in Accessibility for the web.
· Experience working with State and Local government.

COMPENSATION AND WELL-BEING
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - $140,000. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to an annual base salary, this role is eligible to earn commissions.
