Position Summary
The Family Outreach Coordinator is responsible for engaging families and ensuring clear, accessible communication regarding grant-funded programs and direct student services. This role will empower parents to make informed decisions, increasing transparency, and promoting equitable access to educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Family Outreach & Engagement
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to inform families about grant-funded initiatives, including new or expanded programs.
- Build strong relationships with families to increase awareness, participation, and trust.
Parent Communication & Decision Support
- Provide clear, timely, and accessible information about available direct student services.
- Ensure parents have sufficient time and resources to make informed choices prior to student enrollment in services.
- Support families in understanding program options, eligibility, and expected outcomes.
Information Accessibility
- Translate complex program information into parent-friendly formats (e.g., newsletters, websites, meetings, multilingual materials).
- Ensure communication methods are inclusive and accessible to diverse family populations.
Transparency & Reporting
- Publicly report provider performance related to student outcomes in a clear, understandable format.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and present data on program effectiveness.
- Maintain transparency in how services impact student achievement.
Collaboration
- Work closely with school leadership, program staff, and external providers to ensure consistent messaging.
- Coordinate with community partners to expand outreach and support for families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Social Work, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in family engagement, community outreach, or education programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to present complex information in a clear, accessible manner.
- Experience working with diverse populations and multilingual communities is a plus.
- Knowledge of ESSA or education grant requirements preferred.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $40,000 - 45,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
