SAP B2R Functional Consultant
The work
The B2R Functional Consultant is responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of S/4HANA Budget to Report (B2R) Finance business processes. This role will act as a key functional architect to translate complex federal accounting requirements into scalable S/4HANA solutions, integrating Financial Accounting (FI), Managerial Accounting (CO), and Public Sector Management (PSM). This role collaborates with stakeholders to define detailed product requirements and use cases, ensuring that the system supports real-time visibility into the "Forecast-to-Report" lifecycle. The B2R Functional Consultant is responsible for leading system analysis, end-to-end configuration, and cross-functional integration.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyze and design new S/4HANA B2R business processes, facilitating design workshops and serving as the primary liaison between the business community and the technical team
- Design and configure the 3-dimensional budget structure within Funds Management (FM), tracking and controlling budgets by Fund (source), Funds Center (responsibility), and Commitment Item (expenditure type)
- Perform hands-on configuration across General Ledger (G/L), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA), ensuring alignment with the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) architecture
- Apply deep knowledge of SAP Public Sector Financials to manage budgetary ledger (proprietary) and budgetary accounting (budgetary) synchronization
- Work closely with technical counterparts (ABAP Developers, BASIS, Middleware) to ensure that process enhancements and interfaces meet all functional requirements and federal compliance standards
- Write and execute comprehensive test plans (Unit, System Integration, and User Acceptance Testing) and coordinate stakeholder validation to ensure solution accuracy
- Manage integration points between B2R and other workstreams, such as Procure to Pay (P2P) for commitment tracking and Order to Cash (O2C) for revenue recognition
- Support process deployment activities, including data migration of historical balances, cutover planning, and post-go-live hypercare.
Here’s what you need:
- 4+ years of experience in SAP FICO/S4 Finance, with specific expertise in S/4HANA Finance (New G/L) and the Universal Journal
- Experience with SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), including Funds Management configuration and Budgetary Ledger
- Understanding of Federal Financial Management, including U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and federal year-end closing processes
Nice to have:
- Experience with Business Process Re-engineering, with the ability to translate legacy business rules into modern SAP "Fit-to-Standard" processes
- Experience with Federal Audit Readiness (FIAR) and internal control frameworks
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
Eligibility requirements:
- US Citizen (no dual citizenship)
- Must be eligible to obtain a government Secret Clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
