SAP Plan to Stock (P2S) Functional Consultant
The work:
The Plan to Stock (P2S) Functional Consultant supports the analysis, design, and implementation of S/4HANA Plan-to-Stock (P2S) business processes. Working within an Agile team, this role executes the translation of federal supply chain and inventory requirements into functional S/4HANA configurations, supporting the integration of Production Planning (PP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and Inventory Management (IM). The P2S Analyst performs detailed system analysis to ensure that demand planning, stock movements, and material valuations are seamlessly integrated with the General Ledger and comply with federal accountability standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the translation of supply chain business requirements into S/4HANA P2S processes, contributing to design workshops and documenting functional specifications for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and demand forecasting
- Execute the configuration of Plants, Storage Locations, and MRP Controllers, assisting in the setup of material master data views for federal logistics and stocking
- Conduct hands-on configuration for Inventory Management (IM), including movement types, physical inventory processes, and stock transfer orders (STOs) to ensure accurate material flow
- Assist in managing the synchronization between Inventory Management and Finance (FI/CO) to ensure accurate material valuation (Standard vs. Moving Average) and that stock-related transactions align with the Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
- Support technical counterparts (ABAP Developers, BASIS, Middleware) by providing functional insights to ensure planning enhancements, warehouse interfaces (e.g., EWM), and federal inventory reports meet organizational standards
- Write and perform comprehensive test scripts for Unit, System Integration (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting results for scenarios such as MRP runs, stock adjustments, and period-end inventory reconciliation
- Support the mapping of integration points between P2S and other workstreams, such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P) for stock replenishment and Budget-to-Report (B2R) for inventory financial reporting
- Perform process deployment activities, including material master data cleansing, legacy stock balance migration, and post-go-live hypercare support for warehouse and planning personnel
Here’s what you need:
- 4+ years of experience with SAP Production Planning (PP) or Materials Management (MM) with a focus on Inventory Management
- Experience with SAP configuration for MRP, Stock Transfers, and Material Valuation
Nice to have:
- Understanding of federal-specific inventory requirements, such as tracking government-furnished property (GFP) or complying with federal asset accountability regulations
- Ability to execute "Fit-to-Standard" analysis and translate legacy inventory spreadsheets into functional S/4HANA requirements
- Familiarity with federal audit standards related to inventory accuracy and internal control frameworks for supply chain management.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
