DevOps Engineer
Job Description:
The DevSecOps Engineer (Lead DevOps Engineer) is responsible for architecting and implementing enterprise‑level software solutions across the full engineering lifecycle. This role designs, develops, and maintains sophisticated systems that integrate Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS), Government Off‑The‑Shelf (GOTS), and open‑source components. The engineer works closely with software development teams operating under disciplined source‑control processes and leverages automated testing frameworks to ensure high quality, reliability, and security. The position supports high‑visibility and mission‑critical projects, requiring independent execution and oversight of junior engineers or project team activities. Strong expertise in AWS, containerization, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and secure DevOps practices is essential.
Work you'll do:
- Architect and implement enterprise‑level software solutions across the full engineering lifecycle.
- Integrate COTS, GOTS, and open‑source components into cohesive production‑ready systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Design and deploy cloud solutions using AWS, including CloudFormation for Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC), AWS networking, and AWS security.
- Develop, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Actions for continuous integration and deployment.
- Perform advanced Linux system administration to support cloud and on‑premises environments.
- Employ automated testing tools to ensure application quality, security, and performance.
- Work with development teams in source‑controlled environments to support secure, efficient deployment workflows.
- Lead high‑visibility and mission‑critical engineering efforts with minimal oversight.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to junior engineers or project teams.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex integration and operational issues in distributed or cloud‑based systems.
- Participate in system design reviews and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and security best practices.
What you'll need:
- Master’s degree plus 10+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 15+ years of experience, or 18+ years of experience without a degree.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or related fields, in any of the following areas:
- Architecting and implementing enterprise systems across the full engineering lifecycle
- Docker / Containerization
- Kubernetes
- Fluency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, etc), ideally with multi-cloud
- CI/CD such as GitHub actions, Jenkins, or similar
- Linux system administration
- Integrating COTS, GOTS, and open‑source components
- Automated testing tools and secure software development practices
- Overseeing or leading technical teams
Bonus points if you have:
- Master's degree
- Experience with Python, ElasticSearch, or Groovy
- Experience with complex system integrations and enterprise‑level security best practices
- Advanced experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC)
- Experience mentoring or managing junior staff
- Experience supporting remote or distributed technical teams
- Experience with CrafterCMS or similar frameworks
- Ability to work independently on mission‑critical, high‑visibility projects
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Security clearance:
- Active TS (Top Secret) security clearance is required

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
