SAP Food Service Functional Consultant
The work
This resource will lead the analysis, design, and implementation of S/4HANA Food Service business processes. They will act as a key functional architect to translate complex food production and safety requirements into a scalable S/4HANA solution, leveraging PP-PI, QM, and PLM. This role focuses on the end-to-end "plan-to-produce" lifecycle for food items, with a heavy emphasis on recipe management, batch traceability, and quality control. The SAP Food Service Functional Consultant is responsible for leading system analysis, end-to-end configuration, and cross-functional integration.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate workshops to define detailed requirements for recipe development, nutritional analysis, batch production, and quality testing
- Perform hands-on configuration of Production Planning for Process Industries (PP-PI), Quality Management (QM), and Batch Management
- This includes setting up Master Recipes, Process Orders, Inspection Plans, and Batch Determination strategies
- Configure SAP PLM for Recipe Development to manage recipes, ingredients, allergens, and nutritional information, and ensure seamless integration with production master data
- Design and implement a robust batch management and traceability solution (e.g., using SAP GBT) to enable rapid recall management and track ingredients from supplier to finished product
- Partner with developers to design and test enhancements such as custom quality notifications, interfaces to shop-floor scales or MES, and custom batch traceability reports
- Lead data migration activities for Recipes, Quality Specifications, Bills of Material, and historical batch data
- Write and execute detailed test scripts for Unit and System Integration Testing, ensuring the end-to-end process from ingredient receipt to finished good shipment is compliant and traceable
- Leverage SAP Fiori to design intuitive apps for production supervisors to monitor process orders and for quality technicians to record inspection results on the plant floor
Here’s what you need:
- 3+ years of experience in SAP for Process Industries, with specific expertise in PP-PI, QM, and Batch Management
- Experience with SAP PLM for Recipe Development or similar recipe management tools.
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing business processes, including quality assurance, HACCP, and traceability
Nice to have:
- Proficiency in Business Process Analysis, with the ability to model complex production scenarios in SAP
- Ability to troubleshoot process order costing, analyze batch-where-used lists, and configure control keys and inspection types
Eligibility requirements:
- US Citizen (no dual citizenship)
- Must be eligible to obtain a government Secret Clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
