Visual Designer - Product Design
You Are:
As a Visual Designer, you will design digital products and services that help government agencies deliver critical products and service offerings. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and federal partners to design secure, accessible, and user-centered experiences. This role spans the full product lifecycle, from understanding user and mission needs to delivering usable, compliant, and measurable solutions. You’ll help agencies move beyond transactional experiences toward cohesive, digital services that build trust and improve outcomes for the public.
The work:
- Work with other designers and cross-functional team members to make informed design decisions through qualitative and quantitative data
- Work within agency guidelines to create layouts that reinforce an agency’s voice through its visual touch points
- Apply a good understanding of design principles such as color theory, typography, layout, and composition and use these elements to create effective designs that convey the desired message
- Create prototypes to test and define designs. Support usability testing and other forms of feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Maintain an existing design system, create, and update documentation, and library components; or design and implement a new design system to include typography, color, iconography, and componentry and the tools, resources, and documentation to support the system
- Establish design standards and principles accompanying the design system for scalability, efficiency, and consistency
- Improve the design to development handoff process
- Conduct end-to-end UI audits of visuals and design systems, create design solutions to solve for discrepancies
Here’s What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience solving complex design problems and strategic skills to deliver best-in-class solutions
- 3+ years of experience designing digital products or services in consulting, in-house, or agency environments
- Experience or demonstrated ability in utilizing AI-driven methodologies to shape and deliver findings or artifacts
- Strong foundation in human-centered design principles, user interface, and visual design principles for browser-based, native application, and platform experiences
- Experience working across the product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and iteration
- Knowledge of accessibility standards/patterns and designing for accessibility
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Framer)
- Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams in agile or iterative delivery models
- Ability to communicate design intent and tradeoffs clearly to diverse stakeholders, including non-design audiences
- Portfolio demonstrating problem-solving, accessibility considerations, and impact—not just visual execution
- US Citizenship
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience working with federal agencies or on public-sector digital services
- Familiarity with U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and federal design patterns
- Experience designing for complex, high-traffic platforms serving diverse audiences
- Understanding of various technology platforms – Salesforce, ServiceNow, PEGA, etc. - that support user experiences
- Demonstrable understanding of technical (HTML/CSS/JavaScript), creative and implementation lifecycles
- Prior experience in client-facing or consulting roles within regulated environments
- Relevant Master’s Degree
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
