Database Engineering Lead Senior Manager
You Are:
The Database Engineer Lead Senior Manager will manage and optimize database systems for data storage infrastructure. They will implement and maintain different data stores, ensure database performance and reliability, and work with data engineers to integrate databases into data pipelines. They will also, design and implement database schemas and structures, establish database backup and recovery procedures, and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and configuration tuning.
The Work:
- Implement database security controls and access management, monitor database health and resource utilization, and troubleshoot complex database issues
- Manage database version upgrades and patches, implement database high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and automate routine database administration tasks
- Evaluate new database technologies for potential adoption, maintain database documentation, and provide database expertise to development teams
- Develop and enforce database standards and best practices, conduct capacity planning for database growth, and implement database monitoring and alerting systems.
Here's What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of database engineering experience.
Experience with one or more of the following:- Supporting complex enterprise or mission-critical database environments.
- Database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and data integration.
- Oracle database platforms strongly preferred.
- Supporting database modernization, migration, or cloud transition efforts.
- High availability, disaster recovery, replication, and production stabilization.
- Working with cross-functional technical teams, including application, infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
- Federal, regulated, or security-sensitive environment experience required
- Must meet DoD 8140 requirements and hold an active Secret clearance
Bonus Points If:
- Experience with Oracle tools and capabilities such as:
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle GoldenGate
- RMAN
- Oracle Enterprise Manager
- SQL and PL/SQL tuning tools
- Experience planning and supporting database migrations, cutovers, rollback plans, and post-migration stabilization.
- Experience supporting disaster recovery planning, RTO/RPO requirements, failover testing, and backup validation.
- Experience identifying database dependencies across applications, interfaces, reporting tools, analytics platforms, and external data feeds.
- Experience supporting database security controls, encryption, access management, auditing, logging, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience supporting ATO, audit readiness, STIG compliance, POA&M remediation, or other federal security requirements.
- Experience using operational tools such as ServiceNow, Splunk, or similar monitoring and ITSM platforms.
- Ability to produce technical documentation, operational readiness assessments, risk summaries, and executive-level status updates.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical teams, client stakeholders, vendors, and program leadership.
- Ability to mentor database engineers and provide technical direction to delivery teams.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. $135,200 - $278,500 USD
