SAP Supplier Portal Functional Consultant / SME
The work
The Supplier Portal Functional SME will lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of supplier management processes within a modern SAP ecosystem. In this role, you will serve as the functional expert for supplier portal solutions, ensuring seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, Master Data Management (MDM), and other enterprise applications in a Retail environment. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, procurement, and IT to translate business requirements into scalable supplier portal solutions that improve supplier collaboration, streamline onboarding, and support digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Supplier Portal, providing best practices and expertise aligned with SAP S/4HANA and Retail industry standards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements for supplier management processes.
- Lead the functional design, configuration, and implementation of supplier lifecycle and supplier portal solutions using SAP S/4HANA and BTP.
- Partner with technical teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into high-quality technical solutions and system integrations.
- Drive seamless integration between the Supplier Portal, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, MDM, and other enterprise applications.
- Support supplier onboarding, supplier master data management, and supplier lifecycle processes, ensuring data quality and compliance. Troubleshoot functional issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions to end users.
- Conduct functional testing, support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate solution quality prior to deployment.
- Develop and deliver end-user training, user guides, and process documentation to promote effective adoption of supplier portal capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and drive continuous improvements to enhance supplier collaboration and operational efficiency.
- Ensure supplier management processes comply with organizational policies, governance standards, and industry best practices.
- Prepare and maintain functional specifications, configuration documents, process flows, and enhancement documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of functional experience in Procurement with SAP S/4HANA
- Good understanding of Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM), supplier onboarding, supplier qualification, and procurement processes
- Experience working with Master Data Management (MDM) and supplier master data governance
- Proven ability to gather business requirements, conduct workshops, and translate business needs into functional solutions
- Experience in collaborating with technical teams on system integrations, APIs, and interface design
- Hands-on experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect resolution, and production deployments
Nice to have:
- Experience with supplier portals, Ariba is preferred
- Knowledge of Retail business processes and supplier management best practices
- Bachelor's degree in related field

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
