The work

We are seeking an SAP Cutover Lead to support a large-scale, complex SAP S/4HANA implementation for a DoW client. In this role, you will work closely with the Deployment Lead to plan, coordinate, and oversee the successful transition from the client legacy systems to a greenfield SAP S/4HANA production environment. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive cutover strategy, ensuring that all technical and business processes are migrated efficiently and with minimal disruption. Your work will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to coordinate activities, manage timelines, and address any issues that arise during the transition. You will also be expected to monitor progress, provide status updates, and implement contingency plans as needed to guarantee a successful go-live.

This is a techno-functional advisory role and is a critical bridge between the technical teams and client stakeholders. You do not need to be a hands-on BASIS administrator or SAP functional configuration expert; however, you must possess enough technical fluency and systems implementation experience to translate solution complexities into strategic business decisions.

The role is highly client-facing, requiring a trusted adviser who can comfortably navigate ambiguity, adapt to shifting DoW priorities, and build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to drive enterprise transformation.

Key Responsibilities

The Cutover Manager will drive the alignment of people, processes, and technology to execute a flawless cutover:

  • Act as a trusted adviser to DoW clients, translating highly technical concepts into clear business impacts.
  • Help clients navigate decision-making in ambiguous, fast-changing deployment environments.
  • Collaborate with functional, development, data migration, and infrastructure teams to define the overall deployment and cutover strategy.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to map end-to-end dependencies and build the master runbook.
  • Pivot quickly to adapt the cutover schedule and strategy based on client-driven priorities, regulatory shifts, or leadership decisions.
  • Oversee cutover simulations (Dry Runs), managing stakeholder communication and alignment throughout.
  • Develop and refine key project documentation that will inform deployment execution across a complex delivery ecosystem.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups and command center operations during go-live, coordinating across teams to resolve functional and technical blockers.

Here’s what you need:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with SAP deployment lifecycles
  • Understanding of SAP BASIS concepts (transports, client copies, system connectivity) and AWS cloud environments (infrastructure readiness, backup/restore concepts) without needing to configure them
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology and SAP application lifecycle
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams (functional consultants, developers, legacy system owners, business users) to build and execute integrated cutover plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust strategies on the fly in response to shifting client-driven priorities, resource constraints, or technical dependencies

Nice to have

  • DoD ERP implementation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Relevant SAP certifications

Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret Clearance
