Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Manager of Data and Analytics to join our PULSE team (our proprietary analytics and intelligence platform). This individual will play a pivotal role in defining and scaling our data aggregation and analytics capabilities, supporting our portfolio companies in solving complex problems using AI, predictive modeling, and automation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Data Officer to establish clear processes and scalable products for existing capabilities while identifying and addressing emerging data needs across our portfolio. Acting as a bridge between technical execution and business needs, this person will interface directly with portfolio companies, effectively communicating the value of our work. Additionally, they will lead efforts to build an international team to enable cost-effective execution of analytics projects.

This position will be based in Baltimore, MD.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer to define and optimize processes, transforming undefined initiatives into scalable, repeatable solutions.
    • Analyze and transform data ensuring data quality.
  • Build and maintain data visualization dashboards to track portfolio performance, identify opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide data-driven insights to investment deal teams by analyzing market trends, industry performance, and competitive landscapes to identify investment opportunities.
  • Develop predictive models and advanced analytics solutions to inform investment decisions, enhance operational efficiencies, and drive portfolio value creation.
  • Implement and standardize analytics tools, methodologies, and frameworks to support data-driven decision-making across the firm.
  • Lead and support portfolio companies in leveraging data to optimize revenue, operations, and M&A strategies, ensuring measurable business impact.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging data science trends, including AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics, to enhance capabilities and drive firm-wide adoption.
  • Drive the productization of analytics use cases, ensuring solutions are scalable, repeatable, and impactful across multiple portfolio companies.
  • Build and operationalize offshore capabilities, creating a high-performance international team structure designed to deliver cost-effective and scalable analytics solutions.

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data analytics, with a preference for backgrounds in finance, private equity, strategy consulting, or venture environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional project management and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Power BI.
  • Experience with data engineering or software development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial markets, corporate finance, or private equity is a plus.
  • Experience managing or collaborating with international or offshore teams is highly desirable.
