Datacenter Engineer
Position Overview:
As a Datacenter Engineer you will be responsible for supporting a large client for our professional services team. You will primarily help maintain, support, and build our Dell and Cisco servers. We are looking for an individual who is skilled in Windows environments, passionate about what they do, organized, detail-oriented, and a team player!
Location: This role will be located in Dallas, TX. This will be a hybrid role to start and will transition to fully remote, with occasional travel after a few months.
Reports to: Engineering Manager, SRE
Travel ✈️ Requirement: Up to 25% travel will be required to Dallas, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale.
What you’ll be working on:
- Environment/Infrastructure
- Evaluate environment and implement standards according to best practices
- Operations
- Manage and maintain a global environment of 400+ Dell and Cisco servers
- Manage and maintain storage and backup solutions
- Monitor power and cooling
- Automate bare metal provisioning
- Create documentation on system designs, procedures, processes, and changes
- Work with vendors and application owners as needed to resolve issues
- Communicating day-to-day activities, operational challenges, or general feedback to management through defined reports and regular meetings
- Responsible for special projects related to assignments, customer needs, or service management requirements
- Periodic participation in an after-hours on-call rotation supporting production environments 24x7
- Ability to learn and adapt SRE practices and actively promote a DevOps culture
What you bring to the role:
- 3+ years of enterprise datacenter or storage engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with Cisco UCS, Cisco Hyperflex, Dell PowerEdge OR storage solutions such as DellEMC PowerMax or Isilon, or Veritas Backup appliances.
- 3+ years of experience with VMWare vCenter and vSAN storage
- Automation/scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform or Ansible.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, host firewalls, and load balancing.
- Able to work effectively with peers in a team environment, while also working in a self-directed manner on multiple tasks.
- Must be able to work in a matrixed organization.
- Must be able to articulate technologies and solutions to all levels of customer and contract personnel.

Salary offered is based upon experience.
Salary Range
$85,000 - $120,000 USD
