Practice Description

Accordion's Data, Analytics & AI team offers intelligent solutions to a global clientele, leveraging a blend of domain knowledge, sophisticated technology tools, and deep analytics capabilities to tackle complex business challenges.

We partner with Private Equity sponsors and their Portfolio Companies across diverse sectors, designing, building and scaling practical data solutions that improve reporting, analytics, decision-making and value creation.

We deliver data and analytical solutions designed to streamline reporting capabilities and enhance business insights across finance, sales, operations, marketing, pricing, customer and other complex data sets.

This role is based in London with flexibility to work remotely, and covers clients across the UK and Europe. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Director to help lead our Data & Analytics Value Creation work across the UK and Europe.

This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who understands how data translates into business value. The right candidate will not be a pure technologist or dashboard specialist. They will be able to work with private equity sponsors, CFOs, management teams and functional leaders to identify where data can improve decision-making, accelerate value creation plans and create better insight across finance, commercial and operational performance.

The role will sit at the centre of client advisory and delivery. It requires someone who can shape the business problem, identify the value levers, define the right KPI framework, guide analytics teams and turn outputs into clear commercial insight. The role also includes supporting clients on developing the target operating model for Data, Tech and AI that underpins and accelerates value creation plans.

The Senior Director will also support business development and origination, working closely with Managing Directors and other Accordion practices to shape opportunities, develop proposals and expand client relationships.

This role will require regular and extensive travel across Europe to work with clients in the relevant jurisdictions.

What You’ll Do:

Client Leadership & Advisory

  • Lead senior client conversations with private equity sponsors, CFOs, finance leaders and portfolio company management teams.
  • Act as a day-to-day senior point of contact for clients and sponsors on relevant engagements.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders and become viewed as a subject-matter expert in data-led value creation.
  • Translate business issues into clear data, analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Help clients understand where data can support value creation, performance improvement, finance transformation and exit readiness.
  • Lead client insight sessions, workshops and readouts with senior audiences.
  • Manage client expectations, resolve issues quickly and maintain strong client satisfaction

Value Creation & Analytics

  • Identify how data and analytics can support value creation plans, including growth, margin improvement, pricing, customer performance, sales effectiveness, working capital, cash and operational performance.
  • Support clients in developing the target operating model for Data, Tech and AI — covering people, process, platforms and governance — that underpins and accelerates value creation plans.
  • Define KPI frameworks that connect clearly to management action and investor priorities.
  • Shape analytics approaches that link data output to business outcomes.
  • Guide the development of dashboards, management reporting packs, performance views and analytical models.
  • Challenge whether analysis answers the right commercial question, not just whether it is technically correct.
  • Turn complex analysis into clear narratives, recommendations and actions.
  • Take a hands-on role in shaping final client readouts and setting the overarching narrative that connects data, technology and AI to the value creation plan.
  • Support diligence, post-deal value creation, transformation and exit-related work

Delivery Leadership

  • Own the quality of client deliverables, actively reviewing outputs before they are shared with Managing Directors, sponsors or clients.
  • Supervise project plans and take accountability for changes in scope, timeline or delivery approach.
  • Identify risks, latent issues and information gaps early.
  • Lead distributed teams across the UK, US and Hyderabad.
  • Provide clear direction to analysts, engineers, data scientists and consultants.
  • Act as the bridge between commercial stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Lead the team through complex or high-risk delivery, ensuring quality, pace and client outcomes are maintained

Business Development

  • Support Managing Directors in business development and origination activity across the UK and Europe.
  • Contribute to qualified lead generation, proposal development, account planning and pitch preparation.
  • Help shape client solutioning, commercials and scope.
  • Identify follow-on opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Support cross-sell opportunities across Data, Analytics, AI, Strategic Finance, CFO Tech and Transformation.
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients, sponsors and relevant market contacts.
  • Use subject-matter credibility to support deal conversion where needed

People & Practice Development

  • Coach and mentor junior team members on client communication, commercial insight and PE value creation context.
  • Set clear expectations for teams and provide regular feedback.
  • Support internal training, knowledge sharing and practice development.
  • Contribute to reusable frameworks, tools, accelerators and delivery methods.
  • Promote a high-performance, collaborative culture across UK, US and Hyderabad teams

You Have:

  • Significant experience in data, analytics, consulting, value creation, finance transformation, performance improvement or related advisory work.
  • Strong understanding of private equity, portfolio company value creation and the sponsor / management team relationship.
  • Experience working with CFOs, finance leaders, PE operating partners or portfolio company leadership teams.
  • Strong ability to translate commercial problems into data and analytics solutions.
  • Experience defining KPI frameworks, management reporting, commercial analytics and performance dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of value creation levers across revenue, margin, pricing, customer, sales, operations, working capital and cash.
  • Experience designing or assessing data, technology and AI operating models, including team structures, governance, platforms and ways of working.
  • Working knowledge of modern data and reporting platforms, such as Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and tell a clear story from data.
  • Experience leading client engagements, managing teams and working in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Commercial confidence, with the ability to support business development and identify new opportunities.

You Are:

  • Commercially sharp and comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
  • Credible with CFOs, private equity investors and portfolio company leadership teams.
  • Able to connect data, finance and value creation.
  • Clear, concise and confident in communication.
  • Pragmatic and delivery-focused.
  • Comfortable challenging analysis, assumptions and client thinking.
  • Able to bring structure to ambiguous or messy problems.
  • Excited by building a growing Data, Analytics & AI practice in London.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial consulting environment.
